"We stayed in the front room with two twins. the room was very clean and moderately spacious. The host, John, was very friendly and accommodating. He makes a delicious breakfast. No elevator, but John accommodated us with a lower-floor room. We will consider staying again when in Southampton. "

"A pleasant stay. There are lots of additional signs throughout the place so the proprieters have obviously had some bad experiences! The room was compact and clean if a little tired in places. Only real issue was the shower water pressure and availability of hot water - both were poor!"

"Lovely room, really helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Position on sea front couldn’t be better with direct access to lovely walks. Whilst food not available on Monday and Tuesdays, the Beachcomber was get for breakfast and only a short walk away. Would definitely stay again."

"Self service so expected some instructions - couldnt get tv to work. Coffee, tea n sugar provided - no milk. Kettle supplied on shelf - no plug nearby. Low light - difficult to read. However good location, warn and clean - also cheap. :)"

"Was warmly welcomed by the owner, Kara, after I debarked from Royal Caribbean and walked from City cruise terminal. She let me leave my luggage and return to check in. There was no lift, but her husband was kind to bring my bag up to my room before I returned. Room was comfortable and a continental breakfast was included. Stayed two nights before getting on my next cruise. Will stay again! "

"At the recommendation of a local, I stayed at The Maples for a couple of nights. The owners of the B&B were attentive and extremely friendly. The room was quiet and offered a lovely view of the nearby Anglican Church. The windows opened to allow fresh air too. Breakfast each morning was amazing. Delicious and right-sized portions to satiate the appetite. Everything was perfectly cooked. "

"Lovely stay and we were glad we decided to book it. Very clean, cosy room with a kitchenette and a bathroom. Self catering and everything was provided - a small fridge, a kettle, a microwave, cutlery etc. Lovely garden, we could sit there and relax. Very comfy beds, quiet at night so we had a great night sleep. Parking is provided at the car park belonging to the pub next door. There is a bus stop short walk away so it is possible to get to Salisbury by buses 44 and 29 (except Sunday). Overall,...

"The property is close to the cathedral being a block from High Street yet it is still quiet. The owner loves Winchester so knows the best places to eat and drink. Its very private and turned out to be a great find for us."
