Set on the banks of the Great Ouse and boasting glorious riverside views, this delightful cottage, one of a pair, enjoys the perfect location for fishing, walking, cycling or simply watching the waterborne world go by. Locally sourced produce will also be supplied to get your holiday off to a great start. With its pretty interior and garden, it provides an ideal holiday base for all seasons. The historic market town of Downham Market (5 miles), Welney Wetlands wildlife reserve, Denver windmill for cream teas, the Queen’s Estate at Sandringham, Hunstanton for family fun, pretty fishing villages and the cities of Cambridge, Ely and Norwich are all within easy reach. Hunstanton is 50-minute drive and makes a great day out with Sea Life Centre, swimming pool and more. Other places to visit include Holkham Hall and Estate and Wells-next-the-Sea. Local produce is available within 2 miles, and there is also a garden centre. The local village has a pub, butchers, groceries and all essentials. Shops and pubs at nearby villages Denver, Hillgay and Southery up to 3 miles away from the property.

We stayed here in August with our two children aged 12 and 14 and our dog and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. The location is very peaceful and provided some much needed rest and relaxation for us all. The owners were very kind and welcoming and we enjoyed our biscuits on arrival! The cottage was very clean and the beds were comfy. The garden is beautiful and very dog (and kid!) friendly and we all enjoyed chilling out in the summer house. The local area is very picturesque and there is plenty to do. The kids enjoyed the beach at Wells and go ape and Segway’s at Thetford forest. There wasn’t a dishwasher in the cottage which we knew about and no freezer but this was minor and didn’t detract at all from our holiday enjoyment. We really enjoyed sharing this charming cottage and definitely hope to return Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Very comfortable cottage, extremely well equipped and lovely garden. Quite a long way from anywhere so you'd definitely need a car - but the peaceful setting is worth it. Only minor things were the downstairs bathroom (which is quite usual in cottages of this age) and the few electric sockets in the bedroom. However, don't misinterpret this comment - it was a great place to stay and we would highly recommend it.

Really lovely cottage and garden.
Really lovely cottage and garden. So clean with lovely bedding and pretty blinds etc. When we stayed the weather was beautiful and hot and we used the garden and summer house a lot. Only (tiny) downside was that the property didn't have a dishwasher. Very pretty surroundings, backing onto farmland and the river opposite. Had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Another great week at Green Bank Cottage. As usual all the home comforts you could wish for and a lovely cake for us on arrival. Green Bank Cottage is such a peaceful sanctuary, a calming retreat from daily routines and work. Congratulations to hosts Bernadette and Fred for being given the Customers Choice Award 2nd year running, so well deserved. Immaculately clean, super comfy beds, pretty garden with lovely views and a cozy summerhouse. With riverside walks and fishing on the doorstep. It really is a special place, which becomes more apparent once you get home and realise what you are missing. We will definitely be back.
