Liked: Cleanliness, communication
Such a great rustic cabin, we loved the screened in porch and being able to see the deer every morning. It was so convenient to be able to walk to Douglas Beach. Highly recommend this property. The owner was great with communication.
My mom, sister, and I had a wonderful time at this quiet little cottage! The screened porch was lovely, and we enjoyed watching the family of deer walk by throughout the day. We loved going into downtown Douglas for dinner. The owner was very kind and responsive, and provided everything we needed. We could not have had a nicer time!
A wonderful cabin. Very clean, a 5 minute walk to the beach, responsive owner, and a great screened in porch. We watched deer from the porch nearly every day. Highly recommend.
My family and I absolutely loved this property!! Very clean, and cozy. The beach access was a very short walk, and the sunsets are a must! I will definitely recommend this property to my friends, and family. Thank you Erica!
The cabin was clean, comfortable and as described. We enjoyed relaxing in the 3 seasons room between visiting the Douglas beach, the dunes and downtown Saugatuck all of which were a short walk or drive away. The air conditioners kept the cabin very comfortable and the shower was incredible. We visit every Summer and would definitely stay here again!
Our stay at Erica’s cabin was just lovely. Very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Super close walk to Douglas Beach and Rootbeer Barrel. Beautiful walks along Lake Shore Drive. Thank you, Erica! We won’t hesitate to return!
This cabin was perfect for what we needed! It was cozy and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to make simple meals. The screened in porch is huge and the yard was perfect for the kids to play in. Douglas beach is a quick 5 minute walk (less than 1/2 mile). We would definitely stay here again.
This is the most charming, sweet spacious little cabin. Quiet and cozy. Super clean. Huge screened in porch with sitting area and table. Beds very comfy
A doe and two fawn frequented the yard. Cannot wait to come back!!
Great location on wooded lot in quiet residential neighborhood. A short walk to a lovely beach where Lake Michigan shows its beauty. Spacious large screened in porch for coffee in the morning and enjoying the end of the day facing the sunset towards the lake.
Clean and comfortable with nice linens. Erica made sure I was perfectly happy throughout my stay. I’ll definitely be returning!
This was our second time staying at this cabin. It was a perfect weekend getaway for our family. Very close to Douglas beach and downtown Douglas. Short drive to Saugatuck and other area locations. The screened in porch is wonderful and relaxing. Beds are very comfortable. The only thing that might have been nice to have is a few more kitchen basics, such as salt and pepper, to make cooking at the cabin easier.
This was a cozy place to stay with a nice screened in back room with a 3 to.4 minute walk to a small beach. It had everything we needed to cook meals and four recliners so we could all.put our feet up in the evenings. It is a quiet neighborhood where we took morning and evening walks. Very comfortable!
We enjoyed being a few minutes from downtown Douglas's art galleries and downtown Sagatauck's art galleries and restaurants. Also from great hotdogs at tue Douglas Rootbeer Barrel! This is a great location to use as home base while exploring many areas!
We didn’t stay at the property listed as there was an issue with the plumbing however the host was kind enough to let us stay at her other home around the corner. We greatly appreciate her kindness since it was Labor Day weekend and finding another rental last minute would’ve been a challenge! The area is gorgeous and the beach is less than a 10 min walk away. Downtown Douglas and Saugatuck are a very short drive from the property as well so lots to do in the area! Hopefully we can come back and stay in the home listed, it looked adorable from the outside and had a great yard as well. Host was amazing and went above and beyond. Thank you again Erica!
Although the cottage we rented was not available due to a plumbing issue, the owner of this rental honored our booking and provided an alternative and upgraded (larger with more space, rooms, and bathrooms) homestay that was adjacent to the cottage. Both the cottage and next-door home are located a block and a half from the lake (and Douglas Beach Park which is excellent for sunset viewing) and one of my favorite areas to stay in the Saugatuck/Douglas area. Expect a quiet wooded street in an area that is great for walking—either along the panoramic views of nearby Lakeshore Dr. or the Beach to Bayou trail which can take you right to Woosah coffee or the Root Beer Barrel. Plus, also an expect immaculately clean space and a very responsive owner! Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing (and spacious) weekend stay!
This place was just what we needed for a low key family getaway. We did some hiking, boating, exploring Saugatuck, and a beach day and never had to drive more than 15 minutes to get where we wanted to go. At the end of the day it was nice to come back, put our baby to bed, and have a drink while listening to Lake Michigan from the screen porch. The cabin was very clean and had basic amenities provided (toiletries, dishes, pots/pans). There were some weird quirks, like the door to the second bedroom didn't shut completely from the outside and it was right next to the bathroom, so we did end up waking the baby once or twice when we flushed the toilet. The host was extremely responsive and resolved issues quickly.
The property is in a quiet neighborhood with the privacy and vibe of staying at a cabin in the woods and conveniences of being centrally located to Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville.
I stayed here in July 2023 with my husband and 6 year-old daughter and it was the perfect size for us three and could comfortably fit a couple or family of four. The location is ideal, no more than 10 minutes from any place we wanted to go or explore in any direction. The beach entrance is right around the corner.
The cabin is equipped with modern comforts - there are plenty of outlets in every room for charging devices, good wifi signal, video streaming, bright lights in every room and hooks all over for added storage. The water pressure is strong and the hot water comes on quickly and the AC works well. And, there are plenty of extra towels. The cabin is very clean and well maintained.
A couple of tips: The beach by the cabin, Douglas Beach, has some extremely rocky sections where the waves meet the shoreline. I strongly recommend wearing water shoes to ease getting in and out. Second - the cabin itself has a basic set of kitchen tools - pots, pans, and utensils, but if you cook in the cabin, remember to bring your own salt/pepper and seasonings, and a stainless steel scrubber to clean the pans.
we loved the 1930s cabin and the trees and watching the deer feed each morning and evening!!!
very clean and cared for cabin! Thank you for angreat stay!
We stayed over Labor weekend for our wedding anniversary. The area was so cute, quieter than busy Saugatuck with the most amazing sunsets a short walk away at Douglas beach!
Ideal location walking distance to beach and a few shops/reataurants. Best part is screened in porch with wildlife (deer) visits and sounds of the lake. Old cabin, but good furniture.
Perfect setting for a family of 4! 5 minute walk to the beach.
Loved, loved, loved the quiet wooded setting. The screened porch was great for morning coffee and family dinners. The grill and kitchen made it super convenient to have some meals at the house. Well stocked cookware. Saugataco is a must!
Beautifully located, cozy cabin close to the lake!
This little cabin was perfect for our family. The screened in outdoor room was amazing! The neighborhood was clean and quiet, with a short walk to the beach. The cabin was very clean with all the amenities needed, to include towels for the beach. It was so wonderful! We would definitely stay again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet cozy cabin on a busy holiday weekend. It is located on a beautiful, wooded lot with easy access to Lake Michigan. The home is clean and very comfortable. We made use of the screened porch and outdoor gas grill. Our host Erica was very communicative and friendly. There is so much to do in the surrounding area. Highly recommend this for a holiday getaway!
This cabin is located on a beautiful wooded lot just a few minute walk to Douglas beach. There was an issue at check-in that Erica responded to and resolved quickly. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Douglas area.
