"Very good house and pool close to the ocean."

"This open air home was immaculate! It was perfectly equipped with incredible cookware, fabulous bathrooms and the roar of the sea. We were prepped to keep all food in a convenient lockable pantry so the monkeys would not steal anything. The monkeys tried but we were prepared. The comfortable beds were screened with overhead fans. Perfect!"

"This was an amazing space for a week away with our kids and spouses, who all live in different cities. Tranquil space with lots of options for more excitement (e.g. surfing lessons), and a constant nature show of birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. Delicious food, and friendly staff who went the extra mile (one of our daughters twisted her knee on the first day and needed a few more rides than we'd planned on). We absolutely plan on another visit, hopefully soon!"

"Birding & nature viewing is great on & near property.When we hiked we ran into nature tours coming from town to the area to view birds/nature. Beach view is beautiful, but rocky-I would not swim.. & while hiking both directions from it we never found a path to a safe beach for swimming.Owner very responsive but it was sometimes hard to get a hold of the on-site manager; though he is very helpful & kind when we did; minimal English so you need to know Spanish or have ability to translate...

"We had a wonderful time in Carate, and this house was the ideal home base for all of our activities. We saw scarlet macaws and toucans regularly and were fortunate enough to see a tapir pointed out by the very helpful property manager and tour guide, Yeri. The house has simple but impressive amenities for how remote the area is. The drive to get there is an adventure in itself but you could not be closer to the park once you arrive! Highly recommend getting meals prepared by Tatiana and skipping...

"Very cute house, centrally located within walking distance of the beach, stores and tours. Very clean, good a/c (only in bedrooms), well equipped kitchen, good internet. The pool is much smaller than it looks in the pictures, but it's pretty deep and the kids still enjoyed it a lot. The masks and snorkels were a nice bonus. It's a little hard to find but that's down to Waze being inaccurate in the area. All in all we had a great stay and definitely recommend!"

"It really is hard to put into words how amazing this place is. You truly are right in the middle of the best that the Osa’s nature has to offer. Michael is a great host and welcomed us when we got there. He gave us the run through of how everything worked and helped with any issues that came up. From resetting the WiFi, to helping us get to an early morning fishing tour by moving a downed power line in the middle of the road so we could get by with our vehicle. "Generally positive experience. The house was not as isolated as we anticipated. In fact there was a fair amount of traffic on the rough road behind. Lots of bird life - especially macaws. And lots of monkeys. The beach is not really a swimming beach because of the rocky bottom, but Matapalo beach is only about a 25 minute walk away. We stayed three nights, which was enough.
