Very clean and comfortable cottage. Owners very friendly. Great to find somewhere that really welcomes dogs, with added touches of dog toys, towels, throws. Gardens very safe. Great central location for visiting the whole of Dorset and local amenities close by. Certainly hope to return in the future.
Heating not working plug in radiators with very few sockets to plug into. Shelf over basin very hard to brush your teeth and shave. Lack of drying facilities wheh the weather is bad. Dog walking
Nice place and have been twice now but I have to be honest that I was shocked at damp and mould on walls/ceiling and around patio doors in back bedroom. No problems anywhere else in property with damp. If this property has a cleaner coming in to turn it around then I think they need to be spoken too, as when you look close it’s not great. I would return if things improved as it a lovely setting and location
This property met all of our needs. It was the perfect size for us and very convenient to the train station and some hiking trails. Mark and Karen were great with recommendations and answering questions. The check-in process was very easy and we were greeted with milk and cookies. Grocery shops were very convenient. All appliances had detailed written directions on how to use. I would definitely stay here again.
Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting.
Mark and Karen are great hosts and provide lot of information regarding the cottage and local walks and days out.
Very dog safe garden with an enclosed hot tub.
Would recommend to others.
Lovely little cottage, peaceful location with lovely walks for the dog. We all really enjoyed our holiday. Shame only one pub within walking distance but we travelled a bit further afield and found some very nice ones! Hot tub much appreciated 🙂
A lovely gem of a place in an old style village with all you need, the property has all you need even for your dogs.
lovely hot tub to soak in, some lovely local walks meeting the locals and there dogs.
Local to Weymouth with a fantastic beach and the Jarassic coast just 15mins away.
But overall we will be returning as like i have said its a gem of a place to stay with that little bit of luxury.
See you again soon
Very pleasant little place to visit, cottage had more than enough space for my family of 4x good communication from host, lovely little village and nice local pub and shop where the people couldn’t do enough for you. Weymouth beech very close and Dorchester, had nice visits to both. Overall a very nice little trip just before xmas.
Excellent booking process overall stay very good. The 2 issues we had please bare in mind my mother is 83 and both blind and hard of hearing. It would have been useful to know about the steep pathway to the property and also the very steep steps in the back yard. But the hot tub was excellent we would come back just for that.
This cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay (for you and your dog!). We enjoyed it very much. The hot tub was a bonus. Everything was in order when we vacated the cottage so we were surprised to get a message from the owners asking us about a wet patch on the carpet. This was not of our doing and was soon resolved - a consequence of the cleaner’s COVID sprayer!
Great property, well equipped, I came armed with essentials like tea, washing up stuff etc as I normally do for self catering but all that was there. Even pg tips and a pint of milk in the fridge. Super king size bed was a luxury - we normally look forward to heading home to our own bed but not this time! Lovely private setting, hot tub brilliant. Would definitely return 👍
this is a fantastic place to stay and a quiet relaxing pretty place which is a ideal base to travel to other locations such as weymouth lyme regis and with the addition of the hot tub just makes this an unforgettable holiday with very friendly hosts

Comfortable village base for exploring west Dorset
A comfortable cottage comprising two good size en-suite bedrooms with comfy beds and good storage. Both rooms have french windows leading to an outside space. The Sitting room/ diner has a large TV and a four seater table . The internal kitchen is small but well equipped.
We enjoyed using the hot tub - good for easing the muscles after a day’s walking and exploring .
The weather was quite chilly during our stay and we had a minor problem with the radiator in the sitting room . Lesley the manager responded quickly to my text and the problem was soon resolved .
The village has a pub and a restaurant and a village shop open every day until 9pm.
This property is well situated for exploring the Abbotsbury/Dorchester/ Lyme Regis area and we would definitely stay here again if we return to this area.
