Gem Cottage is a beautiful, traditionally built stone cottage with modern interior set on the shores of the Cromarty Firth. The cottage boasts a number of creature comforts including wood burner, underfloor heating, sauna, freestanding bath and rainfall shower. Steps from the front door to a quiet bay and stone beach. To the rear the cottage has uninterrupted views of the Wyvis range and Fyrish Monument. Sheep graze in the field behind the cottage. On the NC500, only 20 miles north of Inverness.
Inside the cottage there is a bright, open plan lounge and kitchen centered around the cozy log burning fire. The perfect spot for taking in views of the mountains, watching the sunrise over the Cromarty Firth or enjoying the sheep grazing in the fields behind the cottage. The reading room is stocked with books or connect to the Wi-Fi or smart TV and watch a film by the fire on a rainy day. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for dining in. Rotate the Aga log burner so that it's facing the dining table and you can enjoy a meal by the fire.
There is one bedroom with super king bed, walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with freestanding bath. A second wet room bathroom, with rainfall shower and two person sauna, is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of outdoor activities. Or to warm up after an open water swim in the firth!
There is an additional room (the reading room) with daybed with a full single mattress. This room has arguably the best views in the house and is perfect for relaxing with a book or as a flexible additional sleeping space separate from the main living area. Also included, a separate utility area with washing machine. There is underfloor heating throughout the cottage.
The cottage enjoys spectacular views of the Cromarty Firth. Every day is a little bit different! One day the sun is shining and the Firth will be a still as glass, reflecting the sky and mountains. The next day the weather can be wild, with waves crashing on the beach and snow on the mountains. The bay is the perfect spot for swimming, paddle boarding or kayaking. Sheep graze in the fields behind the cottage right up to the back deck. The cottage is down a one lane road, with only a few neighbors but is less than a mile walk in to Evanton, with shop and pub.
The cottage is located directly on the NC500. One of the world's most spectacular coastal touring routes.
