"Lovely hotel in middle of small town. Walking distance to centre. Secure parking and a decent breakfast. Restaurant closed but they made a reservation for us at a local place which was really nice. No hesitation in recommending, I imagine in summer it would be even better. "

"Reception service on arrival could have been better...one guest being dealt with ahead of me who then went to get something from his car or somewhere. No communication with me or "sorry please bear with me". Nothing. This guest's wife then comes back in and it takes 10 minutes to deal with her before i am dealt with. No apology or even 'sorry for the wait'. Pretty poor. Room was ok but was told that it has an adjoining door to another room and that 'if i keep it closed, the other guests can't get in!' Very reassuring! Keycard operated door had a weird way of locking - if you weren't careful it wasn't secure. Decor in the Hallway was peeling off the wall and carpet was marked quite badly. Positives: Very good spread at breakfast. Good shower in pretty clean room with large fridge ( always a bonus). Location is great: 5 minutes to train station; 5 minutes to town; 10 minutes to the old town. Very good value for money just a couple of little things let it down..."

"The hotel itself is nice enough and we would have enjoyed the outdoor areas at and near the hotel with better weather. Annoyingly, the bar wasn't open in the afternoon and we noticed quite a number of people waiting when it did open. Strangely, the bar is not accessible through the hotel when the restaurant is closed, needing to walk around the front to get to. There must have been a large party booked in to the restaurant as it was full immediately after it opened so we had to wait an hour and a half for a table. Luckily the bar was open while we waited."
