The Space:
Enter the apartment into an open-plan kitchen/dining living space featuring concrete flooring and wall-mounted reverse-cycle air con. The kitchen comes equipped with a medium sized LG fridge, electric cooktop and under-bench oven, double sink and a tall table with 4 stools. There’s also an under-bench Haier combined washing machine/clothes dryer. The lounge area has a couch which converts into a single bed if needed, a rug for winter comfort and a ‘smart’ TV. A flight of stairs takes you up to the loft bedroom with a skylight in the ceiling to let in natural light. The bedroom is carpeted and offers a queen-sized bed, built-in wardrobes with lots of space for longer stays and a door to a small balcony overlooking the interior hall of the building. The ensuite bathroom has stylish floor-to-ceiling tiling and a roomy shower recess with a glass screen.
The Neighborhood:
Situated on Tasmania’s north coast where the Mersey River meets the Bass Strait, the city of Devonport has much to offer visitors, both culturally and historically. Visit The Bass Strait Maritime Centre to learn more about the intriguing maritime history of the city through an extensive collection of objects, models, photographs and exhibits which retell the exciting adventures of early explorers and shipwrecks. Art lovers can immerse themselves in Tasmanian art at the Devonport Regional Gallery, offering a collection of fine and decorative art and crafts, with a predominant focus on 20th-century glass, ceramics and woodcraft. Or learn about the traditional lifestyle of Tasmanian Aboriginal people at the Tiagarra Aboriginal Culture Centre and Museum, which displays petroglyphs and designs in rock. For those who enjoy getting active, there are numerous walking and cycling tracks in the city, with water sports such as sailing, kayaking, rowing and fishing also popular pursuits. Alternatively, you can relax on one of several beaches or charming parklands. The apartment itself is well located, an easy walk to a Woolworths supermarket, a choice of eateries, the Mersey River, Roundhouse Park and Devonport Showground.
Getting Around:
There is only timed street parking available, although there are $5 a day parking options nearby and parking is free on Sundays. The area is also served by public transport, and walking is always an option – you can walk to Devonport’s centre in about 13 minutes.
Other Things to Note:
* Due to strict noise policies in strata buildings and Australian council by-laws, guests must avoid making loud noise, particularly between the hours of 10 pm – 8 am. Please understand that guests who break this rule may be evicted and financial penalties may also apply, depending on the circumstances.
* An additional $40 will be charged to your total if a check-in happens after 8 pm, and we require your arrival time as the Concierge does not live on site.
* A mandatory full clean of the property and complete linen change will be done every 4 weeks and added to your total booking amount for any booking longer than a month. This will be added to your total amount and processed separately.
* Extra $20/night will be charged for guests after 2 or if the sofa bed needs to be prepared.
*If you are eligible for a full refund as per our cancellation policy, a processing fee of $50 still applies.
*After check-in, if you choose to shorten your stay, you will receive a 50% refund of the unused nights of your booking.
