"Excellent stay. This is a family run hotel so very unofficial and welcoming making solo impromptu travel much easier when any reservation changes occur. As a solo traveler I felt extremely safe staying there and felt more like home than a hotel. One of the owners was also immensely helpful towards helping me arrange last minute tours I wanted to do and really made my stay in Banos exceptional. "Amazing staff. Main guy was AWESOME. He spoke English. Set me up with all the activities, and knew what was good and what was not. There were 2 girls that worked as volunteers for we work that were just as cool and spoke English as well. My one complaint was my room had no hot water..... I left the water on for 5 minutes. It only got colder.... I needed that shower too... The locals like to party... all night long... my gosh. Makes it harder to sleep. "

"We had to move rooms when we first checked in because the bathroom smelled like the bottom of a sewer system. There was no way we could stay in there. We moved one room over and the smell was better, but not gone. The staff all seemed stoned the whole time, and were not very helpful. "Convenient location and friendly, accommodating staff. Somewhat dated but very clean. Hot water was plentiful. Chilly climate but plenty of blankets were provided. Breakfast was hot and delicious and filling. There was a tank of drinking water in the lobby. Free use of bath towels to visit the hot springs!"

"I understand the country has blackouts, but the hotel doesn't have a backup power generator; not even for the reception; therefore, there is no lights for the Wi-Fi. The hotel obtains the water from the water well by pump; therefore, because there is no power, there is no water for the toilets, showers, etc. The hydromassage pool water was cold."
