"I booked this place on a whim. It had very good reviews and at the price point, I assumed it had to be excellent. I was very disappointed. The room was clean enough, but it didn't even have a chair or table. The only place to sit was the bed. There was a blue light around the ceiling that I couldn't turn off at night. The fridge leaked. The location is really cut off from everything except the blowhole though it is within a short tug tuk ride of places that one might want to see. The overpriced...

"Amazing stay, even extended twice. The service is second to none, everything is no problem. From the amazing view of the sea to all the varied wildlife in the grounds, posse of monkeys visit every day drinking from the pool and generally being monkeys to peacocks, a mongoose, frogs, all the birds. "Our rooms were disgusting, so much so that we ended up not paying. There was a new manager one week into his job, he was very apologetic but could do nothing about the multiple issues. The room was full of insects, furniture falling apart, we had a lamp with no electric cable attached, it looked like the rooms had been added to the building at a later date and work was still going on. The stairs up had electric wires hanging out and dangerous drops where railings should be protected by nailed on...

"We arrived there after a 5 hr drive to find it closed, actually more like abandoned. There was no one working there much less staying there. Luckily we found a beautiful place down the beach. Very disheartening that Expedia would take bookings for a place that’s not even open. Worst of it is that even after we notified Expedia you can still book it !!"

"A beautiful setting directly on Tissa lake. The lobby opens out straight onto the garden and pool. Our room had opening sliding doors allowing an unhindered views of the lake. Hundreds of birds coming and going and there is an amazing twilight sight as the fruit bats leave the island for the night. Nice local area and an easy walk along the lakeside into town for the night. Food and service was great."
