"We stayed at this hotel for 2 days during the Xanthi festival in September. We chose this hotel because it looked like it was close to the old town on the map. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that it is actually situated a long way up a country road and quite isolated. We had intended to walk from the hotel to the festival in the evenings, but this was not possible as there is no foot path along the road. "It's a well located, well used, city centre tourist hotel. As such it's a little tired in places but the staff were very helpful and friendly and the beds were clean comfortable. Warning for those that drive there. There is only drop off parking outside the hotel but there are private car parks nearby. Unfortunately our minibus wouldn't fit in the car parks so I drove around for an hour trying to find a spot, eventually parking 15 minutes walk away."

"Two 30yo males. Great service, beautiful hotel. Very accommodating of my partners gluten free diet. We had no car and the walk into town was very quick and to the beach was about 15 minutes, and not as difficult as other reviews made out. Not too many children and it never felt too busy at the pool. Exceptional service. Definitely recommend and would happily go back."

"The stay at Akrathos hotel was a great and pleasant surprise. We arrived with no/normal expectation(by travelling in Greece for 20years).We were captivated by the position and panorama.We got executive suite but most of the rooms are with seaview. The service was truly remarkable. The staff work hard to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. The room itself was spacious and elegantly furnished.. "Rooms are very clean, room service is comming every day for cleaning. Breakfast was the same for all of 10 days, so that was problem. Wifi conection is very poor, we had internet only around the reception and swimming pool. Hotel beach is great, water is clean and beach is having blye flag for water. Location is ok, hotel is on 5 minutes by car from city Ouranopoli."
