"Great place to stay in Portobelo! Lovely terrace to sit out in overlooking the sea. Room very comfortable..Above all, the staff are first class! Manager George was super helpful! All the staff wete great! Also ..the food was wonderful...best breakfast we had in Panama. Definitely would recommend this place to stay! "

"A very nice place for Panamanian standards. It’s obvious they are in the process of fixing things up but some things still need a little work. The room and beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast and welcome beverage were outstanding. There is a small lagun to swim and snorkel in. Saw lots of small fish but the waves and break made it impossible to go very far. "This is a very majestic Old hotel makes me think of the great roaring 20s huge and ornate! It lacks maintenance and upgrades! The pools are huge! It’s a grand old hotel ,"

"The hotel is in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. The pool and deck are great to relax in and watch the waves. The restaurant food was good (need hour notice for dinner). The rooms are really rustic and ours did not have AC. Also, note that there is not a public beach on Isla Grande. We spent all day at Coconuts on the other side of island at their beach and would probably stay there if we went again. We were traveling with 2 teens. "
