We enjoyed our stay at The Oxford so much! It’s a beautiful and historic facility, but felt very clean and well kept. The staff went above and beyond in their accommodations and friendliness, and the evening events in the lobby were a very nice touch! It’s walkable to everything, close to restaurants, bars and across the street from Union Station, but separate enough that the hotel lobby isn’t the main terminal of the train station. Would absolutely stay here again!

For a boutique, nicer hotel, they miss the mark. Room issues with heat not working on a 4 degree day, moving rooms, only to have that heating unit make clicking noises all night. Room was supposed to come with a bottle of wine, which it did not. One front desk staff (bless her heart she was doing her best) stuck on a phone call with people waiting. Breakfast is a stretch to leave full. Continental breakfast is bagel crisps with cream cheese and salmon, limited pastries, and yogurt. Not what you expect for an advertised breakfast included offering.

We were happy with hotel, except one thing, the doorman/valet. Our Uber dropped us in front. I made eye contact with the doorman. I expected he'd open the door for us as we were had cumbersome luggage. He went inside hotel and left us to open the doors struggling with our luggage. When we left, he stood there, in the vestibule, watching us struggle with luggage, trying to open the the two sets of doors ourselves. He did offer us bottled water, I had no hands to hold it, and a smirk. Of course I really could have used help with the doors. I don't know if it was the same guy as the night before. If not, then they need training, BAD. Those small passive aggressive gestures have ensured we won't return. This person is the first impression of the hotel. If I had been a bystander walking by, I'd think nothing of helping a struggling open the door. Incredible. Other than that hotel personnel was hospitable. My husband loved the breakfast. They had salmon. Cold cuts. European. The doorman is hurting this business. We still feel unwelcome at The Oxford.

It was historic and beautiful. Nice complimentary drinks and music. Staff was prompt and friendly. Only wish I’d known that valet parking wasn’t complimentary.
