Romantic getaway, newly renovated yet authentic mountain cabin. It is 1400 square foot, 2-BEDROOM! 1-bath home nestled in a grove of Ponderosa Pines on a quiet road. Come to the mountains – you can feel away from it all and yet you are only 6 miles from historic downtown Evergreen and all that it has offer. 25 minutes to Echo lake ski resort… https://echomntn.com/about skiing/snow boarding and tubing!
The 1950’s cabin is completely updated with new Samsung stainless-steel kitchen appliances, gourmet gas stove, an 800sqft great room with kitchen, living room and dining room with 5 large windows and double glass door that brighten the space, new Pergo wood flooring and updated fixtures throughout, 700 sqft wood open deck with new fire pit and cushioned seating, additional covered porch with gas fireplace, brand new tub/shower surround, modern waterfall glass bathroom sink.

The home is on three levels following the slope of the property. There are 5 steps down to the master bedroom and bath and another 5 steps down to the second bedroom.
The whole stand-alone cabin is yours to enjoy with no other guests or owners on the property.
Although as of September 12th 2022 this property now has FULL Starlink internet It is wonderful for those seeking a break from connectivity and technology. Cell coverage with most carriers is good with WIFI assist. There is TV for streaming,.
****WIFI assist for cell is most likely necessary with almost every carrier, as it is for list of Evergreen.
Come revel in the natural beauty that surrounds you. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck in front of the fire or in the cozy living room. Welcome to the HeartStone Cabin
A few things about the cabin... use it as if it were your own home. Rummage through drawers to find what you need, but there are labels on most cabinets to make it easier. Most things in the kitchen are where your own things are at your home(pots and pans in the oven lol) please use anything in the cabinets.
I have a pretty good supply of spice, etc and a Keurig with a few days or so supply of pods and teas.
I bought the cabin just a couple of years ago, it hadn’t been updated in 30 years, it needed a lot of love and care. I have given it that, but it is still a 100 year old cabin. It is still a work in progress. I have poured my heart into in and done 90% of the work myself. It is a true rustic cabin and as such it is not perfect. I’m hoping what you’ll find is a warm inviting place to spend time with loved ones and family. A recent guest said “Walking into your home is like walking in to a warm hug” I hope you feel that way too.
The couch pulls up into a bed. You have to lift up the lounge part of it for all the linens etc
You will most likely need to have to have Wi-Fi assist for cellular service and I did put my Wi-Fi passcode in the notes but just in case you didn’t see it, the WiFi is HeartStoneCabin and the password is Snowwhite1
The outside bed is great but the bears can be awake and hungry in the warm weather so just be aware. While I usually sleep out there most of the summer... you might not want to! LOL. It is a beautiful place for an afternoon nap. There is bear spray and a bear bell to the right of the bed. There are extra blankets in the big coffee table in the living room. Most of the blankets etc are used indoor and out so know that they are not perfect and the chipmunks love to takes bits for their bedding, but they are clean and really warm. There is a big down comforter in the master bedroom inside, on the bottom of the curio. It is used inside and outside so the chipmunks have a field day with the down for their nests! I just keep sewing it up! Extra toilet paper, etc are underneath the sink hair dryer is in the cubby in the master bedroom closet. Any questions please text me. No question is too small.
I want to make your stay as comfortable as possible, so let me know of any special requests I might be able to fulfill for you stay.
If you’re here anytime from June to the end of July there will be pollen outside and on top of things, everything!I live amongst the pine trees and it’s unavoidable in most of Evergreen. I can clean the deck and grill and outdoor furniture at noon and by the time you check in at four it’s back. It’s harmless, it’s just there.
A few things about the outside bed. I don’t put sheets on it. I found they just got dirty quickly and it’s hard to keep taking off and on each day so there’s just a few blankets. There are more in the coffee table and a big old down one that used for outside in the laundry basket in the master bedroom. More blankets in the hope chest at the base of the bed and in the coffee table in the living I have dark wood floors(shoot me now)within 3.2 seconds there will be foot prints and pine needles throughout the house! It happens, you can’t keep up with it and please don’t try. I want you to enjoy your stay. The wood is Pergo and it’s water resistant. It cleans up well. I would prefer you have your shoes off in the house but I understand that sometimes it is impossible.
A couple of new additions to the cabin…
An ice cream maker! So fun on these hot summer days. The “bowl” for all the ingredients is in the freezer ready and waiting. The rest is to the right of the microwave. Directions for making it are in the container next to the microwave . I almost always have all the ingredients ready for you, including a handful of cookies you can crumble up into it.
A towel warmer in the bathroom. It’s best to unfold the towels and put them in their willy-nilly. They get warmer that way versus if you put it in folded, just please be careful, the metal stays very hot on the inside and continues to stay hot for a good couple of minutes after it is shut off. It is so nice to wrap yourself in after a shower.
Please feel free to set the heat in the winter to what you would like up or down. Anything with zip ties are my own personal things. Wine glasses are in the cupboard next to the big windows. I’m sure there are a million other things I could think of to tell you but I hope I have covered all of the basics.
You must find the time to walk around the lake! It is beautiful. The restaurant across from the lake, Willow Creek Restaurant there is amazing! A bit costly but so worth it and they have an outdoor patio that has an amazing view of the lake! A great place for a glass of wine!
Muddy Buck for breakfast is wonderful. Java Gove has great coffee! Parkside for breakfast is great too! Java Grove for great coffee.
Lariat Lodge for great burgers and beers and Keys on the Green is a restaurant at the end of Upper Bear Creek Road just before Evergreen lake.
We have a Safeway nearby for groceries and a bit farther a King Sooper and a Walmart.
Little Bear is a world famous (truly) music bar/restaurant(though more about the music) great bands!
Lair of the Bear is my favorite easy hike/walk. Its along a stream and so beautiful! When you’re there you can go right or left. If you take a right you’ll walk right past a really cool castle along the way. Maxwell Falls is another nice walk but a little harder.
Mount Fallon is another amazing hike.
If you download the “All Trails” app it will give you directions and info about all of them. Downtown evergreen has some amazing shops for gifts etc and the downtown is really cute. A walk around evergreen lake is must.
The natural gas fire pit is a work in progress. It used to be a woodburning fire pit but I was only able to use it about 10 days out of the year because of our extreme drought. So I just started switching it to natural gas so that it can be used at any time so it’s not the prettiest thing but it works. You have to turn the key on the side to open up the gas while somebody uses a lighter to light the pit ring itself up top. (Don’t lean over it, as it lights pretty quickly. It makes a little bit of noise when it’s on full gas so you might want to turn the key back down a little bit. Please please make sure you turn the gas off after otherwise it just keeps flowing and please make sure it’s not left unattended at any time. It is a beautiful place to have a glass of wine and conversation at night.
Please do not hesitate to call or text for anything. No question is too small.

(If you happen to Zillow it please know that some of the pictures are from before my remodel. The pictures on VRBO are accurate.)
- There are two 50 Mesa drives in Evergreen. Mine will take you down Upper Bear Creek road about six miles. Make sure you are on that road. The best thing you can do is GPS Willow Creek restaurant and then my address. The most important thing is that you are going down Upper Bear Creek Rd. Six miles from the Lake on Upper Bear Creek Road you will take a right onto Echo Lake drive. The second left on Echo lake(just past the fire house) is Mesa. I’m just a hundred feet or so on the left. Log cabin and garage with red trim. If you go around a sharp left turn you’ve gone too far.
Check out is easy, just put dirty towels in the tub and run the dishwasher. Leave the rest to us!
Anything, anything you need please reach out, I am usually no more than 15-20 minutes away.
