Welcome to Josephine in the most sought after area in all of Denver - Cherry Creek North. Hotels 1 block south are $600+/night! The most incredible dining in this entire region of the country & shopping @ Cherry Creek Mall won't be beat. Night-life options abound at Little Ollies, Forget Me Not, Cherry Cricket, Quality Italian, Del Frisco's & more! 100mbps internet free for guest use. 1 dedicated free private parking space. Smoke/vape free inside & out. Minutes from Downtown, 30 to Red Rocks. Owner stays in the upstairs separate apartment with her rescue puppy and family and does work from home - we will encounter one another more than likely or hear one another on occasion :-) Please let us know if things are too noisy! We do our best to keep upstairs noise and voices to a minimum after 10p :-) Additionally something to keep in mind, owner's utility room is on the lower level outside the guest apartment. This home was built in the very early 1900's; one of the original homes in Cherry Creek! Old home charms alongside its quirks. Lower ceilings, creaky wood floors, amazing backyard you're welcome to share! I've made lots of updates over the years, however if you're noise sensitive, a light sleeper, etc this may not be the perfect place for you! Price is reflective of all of these things :-) However, I am always available and happy to accommodate guests as best I can at your request.

Lovely little apartment
Stayed here just one night before a work conference. This was the perfect little pad in a very walkable area. Host is very kind and gave great local recommendations!

Boy, those ceilings are low. I felt like I had to bow my head down whenever I was up and walking around. I bumped my head 6 times on the low beam near the front entry. Ticked me off every time, and I left a little bruised. Access to the laundry would have been nice as I needed to do laundry twice. Lighting was a little on the dim side. The WiFi was too weak. I had to reboot multiple times when I was on it. TV options were on the weak side too. Very few channel options.

I knew this was a basement department, but I didn’t expect it to be as dark as it was. The pictures are deceiving. They need better lighting and/or brighter bulbs. Additionally, you hear every single thing upstairs in the house, including conversations, so it was miserable trying to sleep each night. The property was okay, the host was very nice...but it is definetley not capable of accomodating 4 people...two people at max. It only has one bed and a very small pull-out bed from a very small couch. The towels in the cupboards smelled old and musty. There was an issue with the Internet/Wi-Fi...despite the property manager's attempts to fix it, the problem persisted. Additionally, unfortunatley there was constant noise from above, including banging, footsteps, and crying which made it challenging, especially considering the price.

Stayed during the midweek two nights August 6 and seventh. A good time to be in a basement during this hot spell! I Would have given four stars, but elected to get five stars because the shortcomings were communicated effectively and clearly. And truly They were pretty minor on the balance sheet, when compared to the clean and functional accommodations, directions to the property, and the walkability of the area. I am 6‘2“ tall and had no difficulties with the low ceiling at the bottom of the stairs. would definitely stay here again.!

The place was comfortable and clean. It had all the modern conveniences one could want. If you are 6'6, I would caution you as it is a basement suite and I hit my head a few times, but how often is that going to be an issue? The place was great.

The place was very nice but it is listed as 2 bedrooms, and for the life of me, I only discovered one bedroom. Was I missing something? We had planned for two bedrooms but in the end, I had come alone so it was ok, but I searched for only two bedrooms and found only one.

Great host and neighborhood, a few issues
While the host was great at communication, there were stains on the pullout mattress, dirt on the floor and stained bedding. We had a slight electrical issue with the lights and while the dog barked a lot the first night, the host worked to keep the dog quieter after that. She was lovely, but it just wasn't up to my standards with the bedding and carpet stains.

Wedding getaway false advertisement
If I was staying alone, it wouldn’t have been a problem. However I looked forward to a relaxing weekend with my friends for a wedding getaway trip and instead it was hectic. At check in, we got locked out because the host forgot to unlock the bottom door and she was unable to be reached when she was upstairs. I had to contact Vrbo customer service to get a hold of her. We waited 45 mins with our baggage’s outside the back patio. Then, not to mention, it was noisy and loud due to their child and dog who could be heard from upstairs throughout night and early mornings. the bathroom door doesn’t even close… how is that acceptable when staying with multiple guests. The drive way was huge rocks on the side with no precaution. Air circulation was poor. No control of the temp and was told to open windows. We had an unexpected charge for having an extra member when the listing says sleep up to 4 members, which minds you is a queen pull out couch bed and a king bed in the bedroom.

Nice little 1BR basement apartment
This is a quiet, spacious apartment. King-size bed had a firm but very comfortable mattress. Large walk-in closet. Bathroom has a nice walk-in shower. There is a gravel parking slot next to the owner’s garage if you bring a car. Punching in the code to unlock the door was a piece of cake. Owner has a little yappy dog who goes homicidal when it hears you come in the door and down the stairs, but it’s on the other side of a door, and it can’t get at you and rip you limb from limb. And it quiets down as soon as you get downstairs. After that you don’t hear anything but the footsteps of the owner upstairs, but they’re faint and never a problem.

Loved the location--easy walking to North Cherry Creek shopping & mall, as well as Cheesman Park in the opposite direction. Clean & equipped with all the basic necessities. My safety concerns have nothing to do with security, but everything to do with mobility issues, especially for oldsters and toddlers. Stair landing is narrow and could pose a problem when navigating with luggage; stairs are somewhat steep (but there is a hand rail). The unit itself is a mixed bag--it is definitely NOT "2-bedroom". The pullout sofa bed in the living area is very uncomfortable and difficult for an older/limited mobility person to get out of. Fine for kids, I suppose. Also the bathroom is so narrow that it's difficult to get up from the toilet. A grab bar would be helpful. And there is a short step down from the tiled kitchen to the carpeted living area that should be well-marked to avoid falls and/or tripping. Night lights would be helpful, too. Never had a glimpse of Sara or any other human, but the little yappy dog welcomed us and dismissed us every time we entered or left the property. We love dogs, and that didn't bother us--it was quiet otherwise. But for those who are nervous about dogs, it might be a problem.

My Denver Home away from Home for a few days!
I was in Denver for a friend's wedding at the Botanic Gardens so I wanted to be close to that area (vs. downtown ballparks, etc). It was the perfect location! Everything was as described and Sara was a perfect host! Plenty of space. It is not just a room but truly a little apartment. There is a full kitchen if you want to cook. Keep in mind that it is a basement unit so it doesn't have view windows or a ton of sunlight (transom windows) but there is a nice yard with a gazebo sitting area and the unit is super cozy and quiet. It is walking distance to "Novo Coffee" on 6th and further down is "Pho on 6th" (amazing!). I loved all the brick Craftsman-style homes in the neighborhood. Cheesman Park and the Botanic Gardens are very close by. It is a great place for a walk and Uber was easy to take me everywhere else I needed to go! I will be back! 5 Stars! 10/10! As she described it. Thank you Sara! (P.S. The wedding was amazing. What a beautiful venue!)

This unit shows as it has 2 bedrooms. It does not. It is 1 bedroom with an extremely uncomfortable bed, and a couch mattress that has blood/vomit stains on it. This unit did not smell clean, none of the linens smelled clean, there’s no small heater like they say. This host tried to say we smoked inside the unit when nobody did. We made sure to smoke outside in our vehicle due to it not being smoke friendly. This host was extremely inconsiderate of our stay. She had a party/get together with some of her friends on our first night. She had a baby and a dog or two (not sure) and didn’t even consider that people were downstairs trying to sleep after a 13 hour drive from Dallas. We paid to stay there, we should have had our space respected as well. The unit was supposed to be a quick and easy stay, and it was just extremely uncomfortable the entire time. They don’t even have blankets for their guests. Sara did not care that she had us staying downstairs, she continued to do life without hesitation. You shouldn’t be a host if you don’t know how to. Especially with it not being clean, that’s disgusting. It smelled like old rags.
