It was nice and quiet just as we wanted away from the city to clear are busy schedules. House was beautiful, scenery was beautiful and the general store had the best ice cream.
This was a great place to stay. Right nerxt to the general store so we could walk over to get the home made ice cream. Close to Tappan Lake so we could easily get to our family reunion which was held there. The house itself was so interesting.Really takes you back in time. We would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay with family to reconnect and get away from our busy lives... the owners was very friendly and have a wonderful general store where you get everything you need and more! Fabulous ICE CREAM! WE WILL BE BACK
Absolutely beautiful home!! Lovely yard! Great for a family gathering or couples trip! Peaceful beautiful greenery! Amenities were above and beyond what we expected or needed! Ample space for a large family and children. Hot tub was absolutely perfect.
Well restored and maintained property. Perfect location (Watermelon Ice cream at the general store just steps away). Wonderful hot tub. If you're considering competing in the 2024 5-lakes Ultra Marathon you need to lock this up now. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.
The opportunity to stay in a home built in the 1800's was fascinating! This home has so much character. We felt engulfed in the history that this home has seen and the owners have included inside the home a book that has the history of Deersville. Within an hours drive, you have the town that Clark Gable was born. A little further down the road is where Dean Martin grew up. Heading South into West Virginia we enjoyed the dog races at the local casino. Our exploring introduced to some wonderful people, shopping, and local foods. A must stop in 2 doors down from the home which is the town store and they have all you need for your stay... a must is having some ice cream. Great home, owners were very accommodating, the house was supplied with all you need. Note- plan on seeing an over abundance of deer. Truly enjoyed our stay!!!
We all had a wonderful time here. The whole property was beautiful, and we enjoyed all of its features! The area itself was nice, just hard to navigate if you’re not from that area. I think the house next door is a rental property also, and is close to this house. When we saw that the yard wasn’t fenced in or that there wasn’t an enclosure around the jacuzzi, we felt a little uncomfortable with the lack of privacy, as the neighbors were also in their jacuzzi which didn’t have any enclosures. If you don’t mind that, great! Just a feature we would’ve liked. That is the only complaint though if you’d call it that, don’t want to complain because we loved coming here! The home seems well maintained and cared for, and there were so many things to do at the house itself. Paula was wonderful and super helpful! Wish I caught her at the store she owns a few doors down. My husband said walking to that store in the morning was one of his favorite parts 😆
This house has a lot of history and reminded me and my wife of our childhood. Very clean and organized! Appreciate the hosts for there efforts in making us welcome. We would recommend this location to anyone and would come back if the opportunity presents itself in the future. The only one negative thing we would say was that the showers did not have great water pressure. I would recommend the shower heads be replaced.
Couple of relaxing days at this wonderful house. We loved how old this house is, the fine details, and decorating, it all fit with the house! The hot tub was wonderful too!
