"We stayed here for a weekend trip in Deadwood. Room was clean and overall no complaints. Pillows and bed were extremely hard. Only major complaint is that we could hear the music from either outside or from front lobby area and it was really loud about 4/5 am. We stayed on level 4 but our room we ..."

The most important event in Deadwood, South Dakota history was a poker game in Saloon #10 on August 2, 1876, where the sniveling coward Jack McCall snuck up and shot Wild Bill Hickok in the back of the head. Hickok had arrived in Deadwood only a few weeks earlier, played a succession of card games, and never in his life sat with his back to the door. Until that day.
