"The hotel was clean, even though it was undergoing renovation. We did have to walk further to our room because of it but the walk didn’t bother us because the room was so nice. Breakfast was amazing! The best breakfast we’ve ever had at a hotel, if I wasn’t in another state I would choose to stay w them alot. If I go back through Pennsylvania again though I will definitely be back!!"

"Checkin was quick and easy. The room was great. It’s in an extremely convenient location so we were able to check in, drop off our bags and go grab dinner at Burgatory. It all went downhill from there. We got back from dinner around 9 and wanted to relax in the whirlpool but the whole pool area was overrun with unsupervised kids. The laundromat was closed. There were no vending machines where the signs said there would be vending machines and the little “store” only had overpriced diet soda...

"What a gem! The mansions on 5th was an excellent surprise. This area of Pittsburgh is gorgeous. We were touring Carnegie Mellon and were able to easily walk over to the campus tour. Rooms are updated, clean and comfortable. beds were extremely comfortable. Staff very friendly and accommodating. If my daughter ends up at Carnegie Mellon, we will be back!"

"The hotel accommodations were good however we purchased breakfast with our reservation. When I tell you it was the worst meal we ever had I am not exaggerating!! The service was super slow, the restaurant was practically empty, the waitress kept apologizing but I’m not sure for what. The home fries were as hard as a crouton, everything was barely warm not even close to being hot. My husband said it was the worse cup of coffee he ever had. We left hungry! "The staff was excellent and helpful. When the heat in our suitedidn't work, a staff member responded promptly and fixed the problem. The trouble with the DoubleTree is that it tries to be a 5-star hotel, but the parking lot is terrible, the breakfast food was late and cold, and unit furniture and carpeting was very old an doutdated; not near enough electrical outlets. It's a good 4 star."
