Spacious accommodation
The photos aligned well with actual property and the grounds were lovely for sitting outside and admiring the views and the wildlife. Only critique we had was the limited supplies available to guests. But still a lovely property.

Lovely Homey Kenmare cottage
I had heard about this cottage from a friend of mine who stayed there 15 years ago and highly recommended it . We stayed there 4 nights and it was amazing . The views were incredible and it was a special treat to have breakfast outside with the mountain and lake views . The beds were comfortable ( a tough feat for me because of back issues ). The place was very clean and comfortable . It was a special treat for my family to stay there and we all highly recommend . It has been our favorite stay in Ireland so far and we would definitely come back ! Thank you for sharing your special place with us!

Great stay at Bar Cillatah
Bar Cillatah was is a wonderful house in a beautiful setting. The house was clean, comfortable and close to the lovely town of Kenmare. Views from the house are amazing. We were able to do day trips from there such as The Ring of Kerry and Kinsale. Jer was an attentive host. We definitely recommend Bar Cillatah!

A great retreat spot to relax from the stress of traveling.
The property is stunning and for the most part a great stay. The house needs a 'spring' cleaning/update with new linens/pillows and possibly a mattress topper. Jer was very helpful when needed. Thank you for introducing us to a great cultural experience!

We had an extremely comfortable and relaxed stay in this property. It is immaculately clean, spacious and lovely and bright. It is also extremely cosy, well insulated and easy to heat. The location is very private and the elevation of the site provided panoramic views over Kenmare Bay. Jer was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any issues. We hope to return.

A fabulous break in Kenmare
We absolutely loved our time in Bar Cill Atha. The house was in the most beautiful of surroundings. All the facilities were excellent in the house. Jer was a pleasure to deal with. I cannot fault the house and our whole party had a great break. We can't wait to return!

This is a beautiful property - easy to sit around and do nothing. Easy to spend time in. We were two couples - only dined out one evening. Perfect. Kenmare is an excellent location for touring.

Beautifully Peaceful Getaway
The property is in a beautiful peaceful location, but only a couple of minutes drive from Kenmare. My family and I spent a lovely week there, and have no issue in recommending it. The owner was always available if needed.

Great location on a hill overlooking Kenmare Bay two miles form Kenmare. Deer and pheasant in front yard. Home very clean and comfortable. Everything was in tip-top working order. Host was helpful and not overbearing. Provided plenty of wood for great (not smoky) fireplace.

Delights of Kenmare Rentals 14-21 September 2019
Myself, my Husband, Son, Daughter-in-Law and 8 month old Grandson had a wonderful week in a beautiful property. The location was perfect with panoramic views over Kenmare Bay. Jer Foley the owner could not have been more helpful or accommodating and we certainly look forward to returning there. Our visit in late September was blessed with beautiful weather and we were able to sit and enjoy the evening sun looking out at Magillycuddy's Reeks whilst the wild deer grazed on our front lawn less than 20 meters from us. Peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings
We had a great time in the house. It was a pleasure seeing the deer in the morning and having a cup of tea on the terrace. Plenty to see from there, though you have to drive to the hiking places. We explored a bit the Kerry Ring but actually preferred the Ring of Beara close to the house because it´s not so busy and very wild and beautiful. Communication with the owner and check-in were easy.

Bar Cill Atha - review
Bar Cill Atha is a fantastic property. Inside, it's tastefully furnished to a high standard and is a very comfortable and pleasant place to spend time. Outside, it's little short of magical - offering fantastic views over the Kenmare River with the awesome MacGillycuddy Reeks in the distance. It's also very convenient - just a few minutes by car from Kenmare, which is surely the best town in Kerry! But at the same time, Bar Cill Atha's position gives the property a strong sense of seclusion and privacy - a real escape from the world! It would be hard to recommend the property too highly. My wife and I will certainly be returning!

The accommodation was beautiful, very clean, spacious, fantastic views and everything we needed
What a fantastic place. There was an immediate feeling of peace and relaxation. The views were amazing even on the misty days looking across the bay. The deer in the garden everyday both morning and evening made it magical. Kenmare is a lovely town with plenty of pubs, places to eat and many with live music. I will be going back next year. 10/10 for everything.

Beautiful house with amazing scenery

Loved Bar Cillatha
Our week at Bar Cillatha was great. It is a beautiful home in a quiet, secluded setting, with a breathtaking view of the Kenmare River backdropped by mountains. The home was spotless and well-appointed with furniture and appliances. We enjoyed red deer and bunnies grazing in the yard each evening and morning. Bar Cilatha is Superb.
Bar Cilatha is superb, probably the best holiday rental accommodation I have stayed in in Ireland in over 35 years of renting holiday accommodation in Ireland. It is very bright and warm with large rooms designed for relaxed yet cosy comfort and to maximise the awesome views. The owner is most welcoming and helpful. Very highly recommended.

Best Location and Most Comfortable Self Catering Cottage EVER.
This is our third stay at this cottage and we've just booked the fourth for next year. The location and view, the level of comfort and the value makes this the best self-catering cottage we've ever used. The owner goes out of his way to assure that everything is right. The location is perfect for exploring most of SW Ireland. We use it to go as far south as Mizen Head and as far north as the Ring of Kerry. The cottage is just 5 minutes drive from Kenmare and many good restaurants, shops and food stores. I'm reluctant to say too much as I want to make sure that this cottage is available when I want it again! One point. There are actually two cottages on the property. They are not visible from each other and both are very private but the Bar Cillatah cottage is higher on the hill and gives a better view of the Reeks across the bay.

A very nicely situated house with a view to die for. Very peacefull and all mod cons provided for. A short drive to Kenmare centre. two large bedrooms and a large living room with open kitchen. You have to "book" your spot in the kitchen as dishwasher, sink, kettle, garbage bin are all in the same corner. Great place and would recommend it it.

Highly recommending of Bar Cillatha.
As usual, we enjoyed the stay at Bar Cillatha immensely, the better than normal weather helping. Myself and my family try to holiday there every year and are never disappointed with the house, it's family friendly grounds and of course the many attractions of the south west of Ireland. The house location is second to none, perched high over Kenmare bay. Being from Dublin, we particularly enjoy the complete, unbroken quiet that the surrounds of the house provide (at least when the children are finally in bed!) . The house is always is a very clean condition when we arrive which we are more than happy to reciprocate when we leave. My only criticisms are the small details in provisioning of household items, e.g. provide more than one tea towel. These are minor inconveniences that do not even warrant a call to Jer but are very easily dealt with before new occupants arrive. Colin from Dublin

Second Stay and We'll Be Back as Soon as we Can
This was our second stay on this property. Last year we stayed in the Bun cottage which is located just down the hill. The cottages are identical in layout and furnishings. First let me say that the view from Bar is worth the cost of the rental if you were staying in a tent. However, the cottage itself is furnished to a high level of comfort and is very spacious. The staff (and owner) of Kenmare Rentals are first class and responded to minor points that we raised with them. They truly did everything to make our stay comfortable and easy. We will stay nowhere on the Beara Peninsula but this cottage.
