Valley View Lodge - 67 Goose Lodge Road

Authentic mountain home updated with sophisticated country furnishings. The large great room has vaulted ceilings, expansive glass, HDTV and gas fireplace; also from this level, access the massive private deck with grill and hot tub with beautiful mountain views; updated kitchen has granite counter tops and new appliances; all bedrooms have new furniture and flat-screen HD televisions.



Lower level has a cozy den with fireplace, HDTV, kitchenette with expansive bar, and spacious entrance.



Private master suite has modern tile bathroom and HDTV.



Canaan Valley is the perfect place to visit in any season. Our cooler temperatures in the summer make it a perfect vacation place to get away from it all and just enjoy the beauty the majestic mountains have to offer; conveniently located from Canaan Valley and both State Parks.

Lightbulbs that were out, looked like there were places in the kitchen and bathroom that needed painted, some of the tiles pieces were completely up, and there were no shovels. Becky was very helpful and fast at responding to our questions.

This is the second home in the last 2 weeks (last week we stayed on Northpoint Way) we have rented from Mountain Top Rentals. We will definitely be visiting and staying in the area again soon, but will try a different rental company next time. Both properties were acceptable (not outstanding), but the lack of communication really tips the scale for us. Fortunately, the only problems we had were a nasty hot tub and some bad lighting (it was definitely interesting cooking in semi-darkness in the kitchen), but we wonder about having larger issues next time and not being able to get a hold of anyone. Multiple calls and messages concerning the hot tub were not returned. Someone did show up while we were gone to maintenance it, but no follow up call and/or notes were left. It would have been nice to have our calls acknowledged and know that someone was coming to look at the hot tub. And furthermore the hot tub was not properly cleaned on the Saturday visit from maintenance.

The deck needs a good power washing as the pines makes it slippery when wet. I only mention for safety reasons. The gutters need cleaning out. Otherwise it was great. A beaufuful house! Clean. Property manageR super responsive.
