"Not worth its 4.8 star rating. We suspect that many guests are not quite honest because the host, Sandrine, is such a nice person. Kind, bilingual, and helpful. We have long hesitated to write an honest review, but we do feel the need to warn upcoming guests about what to expect. "The very kind hostess gave us great advice during our weeklong stay. The gite is fantastic - comfortable beds, ample bathrooms, and nicely equipped kitchen. Avernes is a lovely town, close to many other small villages and beautiful countryside, but also easy drive to Monet’s house and gardens and larger towns. The restaurant in town offers delicious food, and the butcher is well provisioned…both an easy walk from the gite. Highly recommended, Thanks Sandrine!"

"Trotz Nähe zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sehr ruhig gelegen. An der Historischen Grenze zwischen dem Frankenreich und den Engländern (Gisor) zur Zeit des Hundertjährigen Krieges gelegen. Daher viele interessante Ausflugsmöglichkeiten Ca. eine Stunde von Paris entfernt"

"Lovely location. Nice room, indoor and outdoor pool was great. Friendly helpful staff, fresh bread available each morning, plus some other provisions from the shop. Would stay again."

"I had the worst experience with a host. After I booked and paid through Vrbo, for 48 nights for 14 persons, the owner asked for an additional payment of 42% of the price. I thought it is unbelievable. I did not accept this, I wanted to cancel. After some days of messaging, when the emergency state was imposed in France and she realized she will not get other guests, she accepted my offer to pay a small additional amount and finalized the booking. "Nous avons été très bien accueilli par le propriétaire à l'hôtel Aladin, très aimable et arrangeant. Les chambres sont spacieuses, très propre, dans un cadre de nature verdoyant du Vexin. Aucun bruit la nuit, nous avons très bien dormi. Douche agréable, l'eau chaude est arrivé très rapidement.
