Uptown Dallas: take a stroll down McKinney Avenue in the evening and you will hear the sounds of lively chatter, laughter, lots of music and people unwinding after a day at the office. Picture lots of patio seating, with tables of friends having dinner and drinks, sharing stories of their days and running into other people they know, making introductions and socializing. Perhaps one of Uptown’s most appealing aspects, its social scene for young professionals just cannot be beat.
Downtown Dallas is definitely bustling during the day with commuters and professionals, but is all high-rise buildings and parking lots. There is hardly any green space or anywhere for friends or co-workers to gather outdoors. The recent addition of Klyde Warren Park on the north end bordering Woodall Rogers does help in giving some greenery, definitely. However, after five o’clock traffic settles down.
