I was looking forward to this stay in Garland, TX, but unfortunately was disappointed in my stay. The check-in process is ideal and efficient for all travelers, but especially if arriving late. The first problem arose with the parking, which by no fault of the owner, but limited parking spaces due to repaving areas of the parking lots. I’m positive the parking will be on point since the repaving will be done. The first night stay went good besides the smell on the sheets. She had some food in the cupboard for use (muffin mix, noodles, etc), some items available if you needed to use the washer and dryer, and had the place looking presentable. The glass table had streaks, and the stovetop was a little concerning. The rest of the stay proved disappointing. Upon returning from the second day’s adventures, there was a strong overbearing odor by the bathroom and bedrooms. I had to turn off the A/C unit since it seemed and did stop the odor from entering the apartment. After notifying the owner, she reported that it could be from the renovations being done around the unit. Hmmm I would think the owner would have been told about renovations ahead of time, but ok. Next day’s return from Louisiana, a HUGE cockroach with wings was on the hallway wall of the bathroom. Not certain where it came from and wasn’t waiting to find out either. That made the decision to leave the apartment. This is the first time EVER since using VRBO/HomeAway for over six years that I had to leave a place and had a disappointing stay. I am hopeful the owner would take some things into consideration as the place has stellar potential.
