About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

4 bedroom, 2 3/4 bath home, pet friendly home. Sleeps 8 adults comfortably

This is a 2 level home with 2 full size bedrooms and full bath on the upper level. The master bedroom and bath are on the main level. There is another smaller bedroom on the main level. The 3/4 bath is on the main level and shares the space with the laundry facility. Master bedroom and one upstairs bedroom have king beds and the other two bedrooms have queen size beds. We have 2 air mattresses to set up in the living room if additional beds are needed. We have a 105 gallon hot water heater so you shouldn't run out of hot water. Vacationing in groups is fun but yet people need to be able to spread out and have some personal space. The main floor is spacious allowing for plenty of room for all guests. On the main level, there is a game room with pool table that also has ping pong table top in case you want to change your game. Our guests enjoy relaxing on the spacious and covered deck. It is not unusual to see see deer with their young fawn from the end of June through the end of summer. The kitchen is typically a gathering place and you won't be disappointed in this one. There are 500 square feet and includes a 46 inch flat screen TV. It is fully stocked ready for you to prepare your favorite dishes. There are a total of 3 big screen TV's with dish satellite service throughout the home. There is Wi-fi access. You will enjoy a relaxing evening on the 32 foot covered cedar deck. This allows you to enjoy being outside rain or shine. There is a Jenn-Air gas grill and a table for outdoor dining. There is an outdoor dog kennel for your pet to relax while you are enjoying the Black Hills. There is an attached 2 car garage to protect your vehicle from the hail that is common in this area. There is very little traffic in this area since it is a dead end road. You will be able to go for a walk after a long day of driving. The property is 2 miles from access to the Mickelson trail. It is 4 miles to the entrance of Custer State Park. This property offers privacy and allows you to be close to all that Custer has to offer.

Fantastic place for families in Custer
This place was perfect for our family of five. Plenty of room, amazing and quiet neighborhood with deer grazing in the back yard, and close to just about everything you’d want to see in the Black Hills.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of the property. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. On a wonderful piece of land on a quiet dead end road.

Top notch Custer home
Very nice accommodations. We really appreciated the large fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed dining out on the deck. The ping pong table and rope swing were a bonus hit with our family! Great location in Custer allowing for day trips to all of the Black Hills parks and attractions. We would definitely visit again!

Great fam vaca in SD!
This spacious house was perfect for my HS and college children to have their own bedrooms and space out when needed; however, they had tons of fun coming together in the family area and playing pool. The location was perfect for our itinerary of Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Needles Hwy and Iron Mtn. Road, Crazy Horse, and Devil's Tower.

Great location!
This home was perfect for two families of 4. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out but also hangout together. The pool/ping pong table was a huge plus, as were the many board games. The location seemed remote yet was only 3 minutes to downtown Custer. We had a wonderful stay!

Great Location and House
The perfect house for us, comfortable bedrooms, spacious dining areas, and a nice comfortable large living area to relax in at night. Close to everything, we were able to get to all the national parks, monuments, state parks, and historic spots we wanted to see within a few hours drive, AND Custer was adorable - if we visit this area again we would certainly choose this house to enjoy. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

Great Property for Family Getaway
We had family from both of our sides meet here as it was a great location in the middle of us both. We had a relaxing weekend of playing games and watching movies together in a perfect location. It’s far enough from town to feel isolated, but only a 5 min drive into town if you need to grab anything from the store or grab some food. I highly recommend this for small family hangouts or a group of friends!

Wonderful Get Away in the Hills
This property is central to all the things a family wants to do. The location is about 25 minutes to most attractions, 45 to Rapid City. The house is amazing and the grounds are beautiful and large. There are plenty games and activities at the house itself. My entire family gives it an A+.

Return customer
3 couples, including one with a 3-year-old boy, stayed for 1 week. Plenty of room inside to spread out or sit and discuss the day! We did spend most of our time on the covered porch, which accommodated us easily! Beautiful kitchen and home has 2 areas to eat inside if desired. Watched turkeys and deer daily from the porch. City of Custer is reached very easily for forgotten items as well as vacation socialization. Entering Custer State Park is also easily within reach!

Spacious and Relaxing Gem
This property was a total gem! Our family group of 21 (aged 6 months to 73) rented two homes in Custer for the holiday. This home ended up being the meeting space for everyone. Extremely spacious inside and outside. Beautiful forested yard for the kids to run around. Even though we were only a mile from the main street, it felt like we were in a cabin in the woods away from the hustle and bustle. I would highly recommend renting this home, and will do so again if we go back to Custer.

The house and scenery is beautiful !
We recently were here as a party of 7 adults for 9 nights. The house and the scenery was beautiful. It was everything we expected it to be. The kitchen/ dining area was very inviting for us to hang out in . We also enjoyed the porch, hot tub and pool table area as well. It was absolutely breath taking to see the sites in Custer, including Custer State Park, Spear Fish, Hill city, Dead wood, Lead, Hot spring, Sturgis and Sundance. Also Iron Mountain Road, Needles highway , Devils tower, Mt. Rushmore and Crazy horse to name a few. The house is conveniently located and was a great place to come back to and relax in the evenings. Lonnie and Sarah were accommodating to us!

Black Hills
The house was perfect for our Black Hills vacation. It's seemed much larger even than the pictures indicate. Remarkably clean for a rental property. The location was great. The site is quiet but just a few minutes from Custer and its restaurants and grocery. Day trips from Spearfish to Hot Springs required minimal driving. The only significant travel was our one day at Badlands NP (less than 90 minutes). there's a lot of discussion on travel sites about the best place to base your Black Hills vacation. I don't think our choice could have worked out better. The house is exceptional, the site is centrally located for all the Black Hills attractions and the owners do a great job managing the reservations.

Black Hills wedding event
We stayed last weekend with 5 couples to attend a Black Hills wedding. This VRBO more than met our expectations. We used all 4 bedrooms and the 5th couple slept on an air mattress in the living room. They also had space and privacy, even though they didn't have their own bedroom. We enjoyed the home so much that we spent most of our non-wedding time hanging out together. We spent a lot of time on the covered porch, saw deer, loved the hot tub, especially with the full moon. The kitchen was big enough for multiple people to cook together, and all 10 of us were able to eat together in the large kitchen. Beds were very comfortable, home was clean. Neighbors so friendly when we walked. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks to our hosts!

The family vacation home finder
The home worked very well for our family. My husband and I were able to stay on the main floor and the kids were upstairs. The home is on an acreage in a development of similar homes but there was plenty of space between homes so you still felt you were out in the Hills. The kitchen had almost every appliance you could want which made cooking easy. I have learned to bring my own non-stick pans as they are extremely hard to keep in good condition with so many people using them. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The Owner was very accommodating when I called to ask questions. If I had any suggestions it would be to have more stools around the bar area in the kitchen because that was where everyone wanted to be and it was a great gathering space. Thanks Sarah.

We would come here again
The place worked perfect for us, it was large, the pool and ping pong table turned out to be so much for for this group of women. The hot tub was clean and hot. There has been a pet in the house at some time and there is a faint (very faint) odor. The towels had a slight musty odor, like they may have been put away when they were still damp. One of the beds upstairs had dirty sheets on the bed. I assume the last guest made the bed and the maid didn't know the bed had been used. The oven may need to be cleaned but can understand that not being done in this heat. The garage would be great in a hail storm. It was so peaceful here and not a lot of traffic on the roads so it felt very private. We had a great time and we would come again.

Great place for large groups
This house had everything we needed and more. It was a great place for our group of 9. The kitchen is nice and spacious which is where we spent most of our time lol. There’s a wide variety spices for cooking. No need to bring any of that stuff. All the pots and pans and skillets you need. The beds could use a flip or a turn or both. They were softer than we are used to. There’s plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The hot tub was a nice addition and the kids loved using it. Unfortunately the adults were too tired at the end of the day to use it lol. The property is a good size with lots of room for the kiddos to run. Lonnie and his wife were very nice and quick to respond to any issue we had. Lonnie also gave us ideas for places to eat. The Pizza Mill was very good and definitely worth trying!! Over all this property met all of our needs and we enjoyed being under one roof with our friends!!

Great House in a Fantastic Location!
Great home in a perfect location to see all the sites in the southern part of the Black Hills. Just minutes from Custer State Park and very close to the Mt. Rushmore/Crazy Horse monuments. The Wind Cave National Park is a very short drive south. It takes 5 minutes to drive into the city of Custer where you’ll find some very good restaurants (e.g., Sage Creek Grille and Custer Wolf). The house itself was great. I don’t think the pictures on VRBO do it justice. The place was extremely clean when we arrived, the beds very comfortable, and everything was in perfect working order. As others have pointed out, the kitchen is very large and was a central gathering point for us. The family room was huge with separate pool/ping-pong table, game-table and TV-watching areas. Everyone also loved the hot tub right off the porch! The house is situated on a dead-end road and we saw/heard almost no traffic. About the only thing we did see were a lot of deer. Given how close you are to everything, it was amazingly quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

family getaway
This was a greast place for a family gathering. My only problem was that the listing stated that there wwas internet service . Upon our arrival there was no service. My son in law and son both rely on this for their businesses and have to be available at least some time during the day. We were first told that a storm had knocked out the service so we got ahold of the internet Co to find out this property had not had service for 6 months. I took two days of my son in law to finally get things hooked up. This was an unfortunate time for the this to be dealt with as the owner was hospitalized and communication was obviously not easy. My heart goes out to her. This was not an incident that just occurred and should have had this service hooked up months ago. If my sons did not have businesses to look after this would not have been an issue either. The home and property themselves were great.

Nice Area
The house was located in a quiet location and closed to most of attractions places in Custer. We did not have a problem of finding it via GPS. We had a good time in Custer, SD and thanked to the owner for sharing their house with us. However; we would like to provide some additional comments such as: 1) One of the two car garage door was created fierce vibrations when it is opening, resulting in a loud and distracting noise. We were worry any time of using it because we may not be able to get our car out if it was stop opening. 2) The requirement to remove the "Pillow Cover" at the end of the trip was giving us a chance to notice some of the pillows were not cleaned (Existing big stain). It gave us disgusting felling at the end of the trip. 3) The trash container should be empty after each rental leaving the house so the next customer has room to dump the new trash bags. Or additional trash container should be provided. During our trip, the 48 Gallon trash container was not empty and did not give us much space left. To avoid leaving a trash bag out. We ended up to carry one of the trash bag with us to the rest area where we could legally dumped it.
