Welcome to this beautifully updated Mid-Century Ranch directly on Maple Juice Cove with over 200 feet of water frontage. Guests enjoy their own private 100-ft stationary wharf over the water (pictured) in addition to the 10X30 floating dock for direct access to the calm waters of Maple Juice Cove. Swim, kayak, innertube or just enjoy the views of nature as well as the comings and goings of the lobster fleet from Sheep’s Point. The property itself is 2 very private acres of lawn and gardens stretching along the waterfront, ideal for yard games, or just enjoying the ever changing water views.
The cottage is located a short distance from all Midcoast Maine has to offer such as the towns of Rockland and Camden, with their vibrant art and restaurant scenes. For a more home-town feel, visit the even closer quaint towns of Damariscotta, Thomaston, Friendship (with Jameson Point Lobster) and the charming fishing village of Port Clyde.
Cove Cottage is a 1950’s ranch home which was renovated in 2022. Currently there are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen. Mattresses are memory foam and pillow-top Sealys, respectively. There is also an outbuilding bunk house with 2 twin beds. The bunk house is ventilated, insulated and secure but unheated. The bunk house may be furnished with either linens from the house, or the sleeping bags provided by the hosts. The one bath is large with a large shower. The lower level features a queen-size pull-out sofa, and a single chair that folds out into a twin cot. Window air conditioners in each bedroom are provided for your comfort. The fireplace in the living room is a fully functional wood-burning fireplace-a wonderful way to spend a fall evening.
The cottage has been curated in a Danish-influenced American Mid Century style, including some original art from the Long Island art scene of the 1960s. Guests can appreciate the views from the deck and the screen-in porch. Due to low light pollution, on dark, clear nights the Starscape views from the wharf approximate those of a dark-sky preserve. The screened-in porch offers a bug-free dining and lounging outdoor option. There is also a large fire pit for the occasional bonfire. For your convenience we will provide the following: fully furnished kitchen, linens, (2) sleeping bags, bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, beach towels, your first tank of propane for the gas grill, dish soap, dish washing soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, a supply of toilet paper and paper towels, and one can of DEET bug spray. There are 2 kayaks/paddles on property, and 2 5-foot tractor tire rubber inner tubes for water enjoyment. We also have life jackets in a variety of sizes, including children's. We offer wireless high-speed internet and a Samsung Smart TV, with which guests may stream from their Netflix, Hulu, Prime, HBOmax, Internet etc accounts. The Game Room has a felt-topped, vintage 52"poker table for card and board games. Presently we offer the following: a full professional poker set; Boston Edition Monopoly; Cards Against Humanity and extension packs (for adults); Choking Hazard (also adults); Uno and others. In the alcove is a cocktail-table style Vintage Arcade on which 1 or 2 players may enjoy games such as Ms. Pacman, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Space Invaders, Centipede and >400 others. Fun for kids and a walk down memory lane for adults. For the sake of parents' sanity, the sound effects on the video arcade, which are original to each game, can be turned down or off altogether.
Washer and Dryer are on property and free. Detergent and dryer sheets are provided.
While we make every effort to assure the accuracy of this listing, as well as the condition of equipment and quality of provided services, we make no implied guarantee of connectivity for wireless internet, or services provided by a third party. We will do everything in our power to remedy any situation as quickly as possible, and we thank you for your understanding. Please wear the vest when using the kayaks and/or innertubes. Due to the tide, the depth of the cove is highly variable, and there are rocks. DO NOT dive from either the standing wharf or the floating dock. To help you plan water activities, a tide clock is mounted to the wall near the fireplace.
