We were visiting friends nearby so didn't need to do so, and the room was lovely and warm on our return once the scheduled heating had started. "the one downstairs bedroom had no view which was sad, but no stairs, which was good! The TV was faulty and was fixed the next day, but then stopped working again. The breakfasts were amazing. The public car park was up a steep hill and pricey. The hotel had no out-side space, but the beautiful public gardens were very close"

"Good use of a small space, with a particularly attractive upper storey. Comfortable. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Parking is secure and it's extremely close to the Tor as well as to Glastonbury town centre - useful when visiting on a very rainy day! There is heavy traffic on the adjacent road, so if you're not used to this ear plugs might be useful (at least in the upstairs bedroom)."

However ten minutes before arriving at our destination the hotel rang me to say that they were closed and on holiday themselves. They apoligised and said hotels.com should have checked their diary and not booked any rooms out. They would be putting in a complaint via Expedia. Have since tried to contact hotels.com to be constantly told by a virtual agent to hang tight,...

"We didn't receive our check in details, so had a panicked few minutes when we arrived and couldn't get in. Soon resolved. The lodge is very remote along a narrow, twisty, well used road. Lovely views, hot tub was fab, as were the views You could take bikes as a mile or so is access to the Strawberry line, an off road cycle path. Road quite hazardous though so not suitable for small children on bikes.Nice dog walk as cows not out and it was dry.Swimming pool looked nice but was out of season, so...
