The Sand Lake Lodge is a special place where we have been able to create memories and gather with family and friends. We are excited to share this place with you so that you may do the same. The Sand Lake Lodge provides many amenities for you to enjoy and is in proximity to many area restaurants, shops and attractions for you to additionally enjoy your stay!

The space
The Sand Lake Lodge is located on Sand Lake with many beautiful views of the lake and the outdoors. The Sand Lake Lodge has many wonderful spaces for individuals of all ages to enjoy. The main floor boasts a large, open great room where you are able to create delicious meals in the open concept kitchen complete with all the kitchen tools you would need and generous prep space, dine together at the large dining table and share stories of past and present in front of the welcoming wood-burning fireplace. The main floor conveniently includes 2 private bedrooms with a main floor full bath.

Head upstairs into the large open loft that includes spectacular views of the property including sunrises and sunsets. The loft is very spacious, including a full bath.

Want more space? Head downstairs where you will be greeted with games galore. Enjoy one of the many board games or puzzles to enjoy while not on the lake. Have a foosball tournament or enjoy a movie with over 50 titles to choose from. The lower level includes additional sleeping arrangements including 2 sets of bunks and 1 queen bed.

Other things to note
The Sand Lake Lodge is located on the hill side of Sand Lake. It is approximately 120 steps down to the lake. Steps are continuously maintained (May - October) for your ease of reaching the lake. There is a private dock where you may enjoy fishing from or landing your boat (public access is a short drive away if you would like to bring water equipment).

The driveway to the cabin is short but steep. During the winter months we have someone available to plow and sand the driveway but 4 wheel drive is necessary to get up the hill in the winter.

Girl’s spring trip

Girls getaway
We enjoyed a 3 night stay for our annual girls weekend. The house was perfect and the views from the windows or the deck at sunset was great. We enjoyed sitting arouns the fireplace in the main room chatting and playing games. Was a great relaxing weekend with friends.

Family in the area
There were six of us in our group and we were traveling with elderly parents and needed a place close to our family in the area for a birthday and baptism celebration weekend. This fit the bill completely! The main floor bedrooms and bathroom were perfect for the parents so they didn't have to take stairs. Our son and daughter in law had their own private level, and my husband and I had the loft area. The host, Rachel, was very responsive when I had questions and the house and location was beautiful. We would definitely recommend to others who needed plenty of space to stay in the area. Thank you!

Spring girl’s trip
This house is just gorgeous. It checked off all the boxes: very clean and spacious, separate beds for each gal, long dining table for our Saturday night gourmet supper (we’re foodies), plenty of bathrooms, ample kitchen space, beautiful view, comfortable seating in living room for lounging, outdoor furniture for same, within our driving radius, and within our budget. Our host was easy to work with, answering questions quickly, and was very accommodating and friendly. We hope to be back next year. Also, go to Hilltop for a meal and be sure to meet Barb at Nezzy’s in town.

May Day girls
This property is very well maintained and very comfortable. They had a lot of amenities that other properties don't have (paper products, seasonings, ice maker that works, cookware, and a lot of household items that you would not think to bring). I would love to bring a small group of motorcycles to see the sights and enjoy the riding. Great place!!! Thank you!!

Perfect setup for grandma, her children and their 5 kiddos. Cabin was well stocked, nicely furnished and great open space both indoors and out. Wraparound deck and yard space were wonderful. Paddle boat and kayaks were nice to have.

Amazing Getaway
This home is spectacular! Roomy, comfortable, beautiful woods and lake. The flying squirrels come out at dusk...very amusing. Rachel is the perfect host with quick replies and valuable info about the area. Definitely eat at the Hilltop Retreat. LOVED THIS PLACE!

Great stay at a beautiful cabin
We rented this beautiful cabin for 4 nights, and we had a fantastic time here. The check-in process was very easy and the cabin was ready for our occupancy when we arrived. I highly recommend you considering a stay at this cabin if you're looking for a spacious place with great views and stocked with games.

Perfect Family Gathering
This property was perfect for our large family gathering. Great open spaces to hangout together, and room enough to hide when need some alone time. We enjoyed the outside fire spot A LOT. The view from up on the hill is breathtaking. We enjoyed the puzzles & games, and enjoyed sitting on the desk watching the birds (lots of red-headed-woodpeckers). The Owner was GREAT! Supported our every need and answered all of our questions quickly. The property is perched up on a hill...makes for a great spot & great views. Makes it tough getting down and up from the lake & down and up the driveway with ice/snow. Access to a cloths washer/drier would have been nice. If we need to VRBO near Cumberland again, we will try and book again. -Tom

Amazing fishing getaway!
What a beautiful lake home! It suited our fishing group perfectly. The Fall colors made for a nice backdrop. The home is warm and welcoming - pride and care of ownership is evident! We especially loved the huge kitchen, open main level, and assortment of games. The lake has great fishing as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and highly recommend this particular property. July Cabin Stay
We wanted a relaxing week at a cabin away from the cities and we got it. The cabin has all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable. Be prepared for some exercise—there are a lot of stairs to get back up to the cabin from the lake, and it’s steep. But you can use those extra steps to justify the all the meals you’ll make in the enormous kitchen. Bedrooms are large and the master bath is suite quality. A grill, fire pit, deck with chairs, kayaks, paddle boat, and a fully stocked game room will keep everyone of all ages entertained for the whole stay. The only bad thing you’ll get is a sunburn. (P.S. go to Louie’s in town!)
