"Our room was clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful hosts who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Introduced us to their friendly dog and they were able to offer advice on where to eat dinner. Plenty information in the folder in the room of local attractions if anyone wanted. We would stay again. Insh Hall

2.0 star property
6.8 out of 10, (23)
"Nice and clean place with a lake nearby. Staff was very accommodating even before we checked-in. We stayed in a room good for 3 people and it was cramped. The beds squeeked a lot too. For the price, we expected something better... but then we were just there for a couple nights, so it was ok. Perhaps the cabins would have been nicer for longer stays. "

Sweeney Rooms Aviemore

3.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (39)
"Only stayed for three nights, but thought it was a lovely place. The room decor is very modern/contemporary, which is what I like. Bed and bedding was comfortable, but was only a small double bed, presumably because the room was quite small. We will stay again , but will book a bigger room next time."

Macdonald Spey Valley Resort

3.0 star property
7.8 out of 10, Good, (188)
"A poor start when they failed to answer any of my emails, but my call was answered. The lodges, especially on the outside, were tired and a bit tatty, but everything was clean and functional. Beds were good and pillows were great. Very well equipped for self-catering and everything we needed for a family of four. The only irritation was that they allow pets and there was evidence of animal hair on decorative bed throws and cusions, but not enough to bother us. Parking was right beside lodge and...
