The Neighborhood Overview:
The Ebenezer Estate is a small neighborhood community that makes up part of Dutch Cul-de-Sac. Centrally located between Phillipsburg and Marigot. It's a residential area located in a valley, surrounded by hills. The impressive nature of the green hills is always in view. The area is accessed by a single main road, LB Scott Road, which ends in a cul-de-sac against the hills. This road runs through the valley and provides access to the many side roads on which the dwellings are located. The main road, LB Scott Road, connects Dutch Cul-de-Sac with the rest of Sint. Maarten.
What I love most about the neighborhood are the quietness and privacy. On most days, the block is quiet, other than vehicles passing on the streets from time to time during school hours. It's a short drive to the attractions of both the Dutch and French sections of the Island. This neighborhood is pretty safe, I wouldn't be too worried about walking around the neighborhood; people are amicable. You'll find the communities warm and welcoming. The best way to discover the way of life and customs of Saint Maarten is to take a stroll through its towns and villages.
Twenty-three minutes to Juliana International Airport, Fifteen minutes to Philipsburg, the boardwalk, Great Bay, and Divi Little Bay beaches. The area is home to The Flying Dutchman, the steepest Zipline in the world, and the Rainforest Park.
Emilio's Restaurant- Fine dining with lots of history.
Jose Lake Ballpark- host to local and international softball.
Carrefour Market- the largest hypermarket in the world.
Carib Lumber Ballpark - hosts local and regional cricket.
Juliet’s gym-5 minutes
Mark's Place - American and Caribbean Cuisine, large portions, and friendly staff.
The lookout point is on Cole Bay Hill, where you will enjoy an excellent view of Simpson Bay, Cole Bay, and our neighboring islands.
Getting around:
If you want to explore the island and its beaches, Evening entertainment, I recommend renting a car. However, there is easy access to public transportation in the Dutch Cul-de-Sac area. The journey is short to Philipsburg and the airport by car or taxi. The nearest bus stop that goes into Philipsburg is about a 5-minute walk.
You can get a cab to the airport. Prices are set by the government and are determined by how far you go. The restaurant will call a cab for you. Just make sure to wait for the cab number they give you. Taxis are also great transportation at night, particularly as the buses are less likely to run. They are unmetered, so agree on a fare before entering the cab. The main Taxi service in St. Maarten is called Dutch Taxi. I can also provide a more reliable taxi driver and a car rental company, highly recommended.
