"We were all buzzing around with excitement at this property when we arrived. The kids thought it was incredible! It's such an old building, full of history and not spoiled in its renovation, it was still so characterful. The kids loved that we restricted the flow of the water at night to quieten it down, and then released it every morning - we got lucky as the water wheel does not always turn but we got some movement out of it! "We loved our time at Champallement which is a very pretty village in beautiful countryside. Our host was extremely helpful prior to arrival and the house is just as described in the listing. Comfortable beds, high quality dishwasher and washing machine, a good garden for us and our dogs (though a determined dog could escape quite easily). Kitchen was well equipped but small for more than one person. Very good shower. Fantastic dog walks all around and lakes for swimming just 15 minutes away...
