Our stay at the cozy den was lovely. It was a comfortable property, very neat and well stocked with the basic necessities that we could need. Brittany was very quick to respond, and made sure we had all the details we may need to have a successful stay.
This was a great place to stay while we attended nearby events. The property was clean and was in a quiet neighbourhood. We encountered no issues during our stay. I would stay here again.
When you get old you're not so savvy with electrical gadgets, like automatic door locks. So by the time I quit pushing buttons I had us locked out. (by the way I'm 70) I called our host and she was super nice about getting the door unlocked with her phone. Who ever heard of such a thing.
This place is super clean and has everything anyone could want. We went to the Ark on Friday and the Creation Museum on Saturday, perfect location for both.
There is a Mexican Restaurant very close with excellent food.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Listing did not do this place justice. Very nice and comfortable. Great wifi. Very convenient to interstate. Highly recommend this place. If we travel there again, I will definitely look for this place! (I rated accuracy of listing low because it was much better than listing!)
Quick and easy check in process. Quiet neighborhood. Kitchen had everything we needed. No issues with neighbors. No issues with cigarette smoke smell. (Saw that in previous review) Everything was perfect. We will stay here again.
apt. was clean, easy to get off interstate good location for Ark and Creation.the only problem was stairs. We were two couples over 60.yrs old.stairs were steep and not easy to climb. Would be great you younger people. Host was great and we were able to get in early.
Two-story duplex was nice, convenient and close to the interstate. Had everything that was needed. Beds were comfortably firm. Both bedrooms and full bath are upstairs if stairs are a problem. Neighborhood was nice and quite. We ventured out to The Ark, Big Bone Lick State Park, Anderson Ferry, Ohio and Illinois. Beautiful area. Host were accessible when needed.
The hosts were very quick to answer questions and kind. The accuracy of the listing was 100%. It was about 20 minutes to the Ark, about 30 to the Creation museum and about 40 to the Kentucky Horse Park. It was a quiet neighborhood. The house was fully stocked, more than most places. I have a travel bag I keep stocked for when we stay at condos or homes and we didn’t really need anything but the toilet paper from it. There was many different seasonings in the kitchen and plenty laundry soap, hand soaps, paper towels and linens. It gets a little warm up stairs even with the AC on 66-68 so bring a fan, it’s nice and cool downstairs.
We had a nice stay and would rent from these hosts again.
Overall was good. Would have been helpful if things were stocked better....the only toilet paper was available was on the rolls, no refills. We had 6 adults. Same for the laundry soap. Instructions were to run the washer with towels, we did but there wasn't even enough laundry soap for the load. Also, we took out the trash but we couldn't find any replacement can liners. Also the temp was set at 85 degrees when we arrived. Was in the 90s outside and it was very uncomfortable for the first couple of hours. Hope this helps for your future guests.
A wonderfully clean and quiet home away from home. The host was very communicative and responsive. Best of all, there were no issues at all. I had one question about the property shortly after booking the reservation and I received a very quick, honest response.
The location is EASILY accessible, even if you don't know the area. It is very quiet, which we appreciated.
My only compaint is there are very limited restaturant choices other than fast food. The host, of course, cannot control that.
First, I want to say that Brittany, was very helpful, kind, and professional.
The listing is cute & comfortable, but it is a NIGHTMARE when it comes to odors. My friend and I stayed for 2 nights with me in the bedroom on the right. On the first night, I woke to the overwhelming scent of smoke, and I had a headache & a sore throat. I tossed and turned all night even with the fan on and door open. My friend came into my room in the morning and said "whoa" because of how intense the smoke smell was.
The 2nd day, we returned to the duplex and it smelled like weed throughout the place. After an hour, it turned to cigarette smoke odor again.
The property manager said that she would investigate, but my friend and I think they are already aware due to Glade plug-ins/sprays in almost every room, and the smoke detector being in a drawer in the right bedroom upstairs.
I understand that neighbors can't be controlled, but warnings are needed for those with allergies or asthma because of how overwhelming the scent of smoke is, and all of the scent-plug-ins/sprays trying to cover odors.
Also, all my clothes and bags smelled like smoke, and my bag still smells after 2 weeks which sucks.
Lastly, I find it unsanitary that the laundry is to be started by guests with no sanitation additives--just detergent pods. I would not have used the towels here if I had known the previous guests were responsible for washing. This seems so unsanitary and a health hazard.
We walked in the door and the stink of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. An air purifier ran the whole time we were there (3 nights), and the air was still smelly, but not quite as bad when we left this morning. The host did offer to try to find us a place to stay, and acknowledged the smoke problem, but we weren't about to repack and drag our luggage again (it took a couple of hours to get a response from our complaint about the air), we just stayed upstairs as much as possible as the smell wasn't quite as bad up there. The description of the rental should be a little more informative - discovered it was two story when we got there and my travel buddy (65 years old) and I (76 years old) found it pretty difficult to drag our luggage up a long stairway to the bedrooms. If I had known it was 2 story, I would have kept looking! There was a paper towel issue when we arrived (had about 6 sheets of paper on 2 rolls in the kitchen) and I also advised the host about that. They did leave a fresh roll on the front step for us to find the next morning. I will say the place was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The host did what she could, but she really needs to address the cigarette smoke issue - it was terrible!
Positives:
* Close to I-75 Crittenden exit, McDonald's, Wendy's, & Dollar General
* Close to The Barn at Belle Hills wedding venue
* Clean, Great Internet & nice TV's in living room and bedrooms
Negatives:
* Unit smelled of stale cigarettes despite being a non-smoking unit.
* Shower curtain showing signs of needing cleaned or replaced. And Shower was a bit narrow feeling & a newer rounded style shower curtain rod would perhaps help
* Stairs a bit steep as both bedrooms are located upstairs
Overall a good experience & communication by host.
We enjoyed our stay. The cozy den was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with supplies needed. We liked having coffee and preparing for the day at the kitchen table and later relaxing on the chaise sofa to watch a movie after daily outings.
