It was a very peaceful stay. We really enjoyed being there. The hostess was incredibly warm and helpful. Staying in there lodges was a unique and lovely experience
Fabulous lodges by a lake, very friendly hosts. Loved it and will be back again as soon as we can....possibly for a quite get away in one of the new Swedish style lodges.
Not far from England's Jurassic coast and nice to be out by a pond in a cabin away from it all. Nice amenities. Friendly and helpful property managers.
What a place to drive up to, our own slice of heaven for the night and such a pleasure to be able to book such a place for one night. I have to admit that a 10:00 am check out on a Sunday was a bit of a drag as it meant we couldn't enjoy a lie in and a leisurely breakfast so I wish we'd pushed the boat out for two nights.
The lodge wasn't spotless so a little more attention to details on skirtings and spider webs would have been nice but cosmetically everything was clean.
I would imagine that for a week you would have absolutely everything you need and you need never be a fishing widow as the lodge is right on the edge of the lake whilst also being very securely fenced off so you don't have to worry about your little ones. The sound of nature was deafening but no noise pollution at all from anything man-made - so realaxing.
Absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. Arrived around 8pm with no issues; Catherine provided email instructions and directions to the site which really helped. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had ample space for a party of 4 (two separate bedrooms). The bathroom was surprisingly modern with a shower cubicle and all very clean. We stayed for one night only, and opted for the continental breakfast (at a surcharge) purely because we were too lazy to look around for food but did pop into the nearby farm shop (this was surprisingly not very well stocked). I would definitely recommend the cabin, esp if you live in a busy city - the area (horses about 10m away and ducks in the lake!) is great as the peace and quiet and fresh air is so refreshing whilst the cabin itself is perfect.
Only stayed at the Kingfisher lodge for one night whilst we travelled 3 hours to Weymouth Dorset to meet family and decided to book a lodge away from Weymouth due to the high priced standard travelodges and premier inns just because of their distance from the beach. Wife decided to book this excellent lodge for some rest and relaxation and it was a very great surprise and difference that we are used too but something I would do again and for longer! Daughter loved the horses right outside of our lodge and view from her window and the team were very accommodating to provide us a baby crib and bath tub. There is a fishing lake opposite which you can rent the rods for but I wish I had more time to stay so I could give it a try. Tea bags, coffee, milk and cookies where a welcome treat so no need to bring your own! Instructions to get to the area are very easy and the village is very very quiet!
A plus was that because we only arrived at 9pm on saturday night and check out was 10am, I asked whether it would be possible to do a late check out and because there was no one turning up on Sunday, they let us leave when we were ready which was fantastic as it let us give our daughter more time to run back and forth to the horses while we took our time to pack - Thanks!
It's in a lovely setting, and was very relaxing. We were left to it, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking implements, plus information on takeaways! Only negative points was the sofa was a little dirty between the cushions (looked like dog hair) and we didn't have any hand towels supplied, just a bath towel each. Had to use a tea towel to dry our hands after washing them. These were o ly minor things and could easily be rectified. Other a lovely stay.
