The Space:
Bridge House Somerset is a beautiful grade II listed historic country house at the foot of Ham Hill Country Park. The house offers a warm and spacious welcome making it
an ideal venue for gatherings and celebrations with friends and family. It has 5 large Georgian bedrooms, a heated swimming pool, two wood burning stoves, snooker room, games room, office/library, sitting room, well equipped large family kitchen, and laundry room with a large freezer, fridge and separate drinks fridge. Bridge House Somerset is an enchanting grade II listed historic country house, exuding charm, and elegance.

5 Large Georgian Bedrooms to sleep 10: two of which have additional
single beds providing flexible sleeping for larger groups or families. All linen is
provided and is Dusk Egyptian cotton
WIFI: There is fast broadband throughout the house
Large Kitchen: The well-equipped kitchen is ideal for entertaining, featuring
an oil-fired AGA, two electric Neff ovens, gas hob, and dining space for ten.
There is a separate room off the kitchen with plenty of freezer/fridge space
together with a dedicated drinks fridge
Heated Swimming Pool: Relax and unwind in our heated pool, heated from
May to October
Pool Safety Cover: An electric pool safety cover that gives complete peace
of mind keeping the little ones safe
Snooker Room: Challenge your friends to a game on the antique snooker
table, complete with a TV and wood-burning stove for cozy evenings
Games Room: Enjoy this relaxed room with original Georgian French doors
opening directly on to the large, private garden. There are numerous games
to choose from, along with a Smart TV for movie nights
Library/Office: This room has an easy-to-use gas fire, comfy sofas for a quiet
reading space, and plenty of table space for puzzle enthusiasts. The
fibreoptic broadband also makes this an ideal room for remote working
Wood-Burning Stoves: Both the sitting room and snooker room have
Clearview wood burners for cosy nights in the Spring and Autumn
Washing Machines: There are 2 washing machines and 3 large
environmentally friendly ceiling-mounted drying rails
Plenty of Parking: Private gated off-road parking for up to six cars, making it
easy for everyone to park and unpack.
EV Charger: Convenient charging point in the car parking area for electric
cars (additional fee).
Bedrooms: there are five large, unique and newly renovated bedrooms with
wide, light original Georgian windows.
The master bedroom has a hand made elm super-king-size bed and an en-
suite with a bath and walk-in wet room shower overlooking the garden
A further three of the bedrooms have king-size beds with the final bedroom
having a comfortable double bed.
Two of the bedrooms have an additional single bed providing flexible
sleeping arrangements, accommodating larger groups or families
The property has three well-equipped bathrooms and 2 separate WCs:
The Master Ensuite has a free-standing bath and walk-in wet room
shower; the second bathroom has full sized Savoy bath and a separate
shower; the third bathroom has a large modern walk-in wet room shower.
There is one WC on the ground floor and one on the first-floor landing
Two of the bedrooms have separate original Victorian porcelain wash
basins
Accessibility: The house is Grade II Listed and is not suitable for those using
wheelchairs or for those who find gravel and/or stairs challenging. The old
original stone outside pathways are uneven and can be slippery when wet.
Other things to note
We have a gardener who cuts the grass and keeps things tidy - he will try to do
this on change-over days, but depending on the weather he may need to do this at
other times
Travel Cot: We do have a pop-up travel cot but guests will need to bring their
own bedding.
Dog Owners - Only 1 dog per booking – no dog larger than a Labrador or
Retriever.
There are many beautiful dog walks locally, and the beaches on the Jurassic
Coast often accept dogs, particular in Autumn/Winter, with Eype Beach being one
of the best beaches in Dorset for dog owners with year-round dog access.
The kitchen and it’s hallway is large with plenty of room for your dog and their
bedding. A dog crate can be easily accommodated in the kitchen hallway. To
protect the carpets and furniture, dogs are strictly not allowed upstairs or in any
other areas of the house at any time.
We live next door with our very friendly Irish Terrier, and it is therefore important
that your dog is friendly with other dogs.
Strictly no dogs in the pool or on the pool cover as their claws can puncture both
the pool liner and the cover. If you are thinking of bringing your dog, please
