Beautiful Home Located On The Smith River Nestled In The Redwoods-Free Wifi

The Hiouchi Hideaway is located approximately 8 miles northeast of Crescent City, California along scenic HWY 199 in Hiouchi, California. Nestled in the redwoods on the Smith River by Jedediah Smith State Park. Situated in a temperate rain forest, Hiouchi is known for its natural beauty and warmer climate. The Hiouchi Hideaway is on 1.4 acres and is walking distance from a public boat launch and beaches on the Smith River. Its location is ideal for activities such as hiking, fishing, and swimming. You can hike 2.5 miles to Stout Grove where majestic redwoods thrive or continue your hike to Jedediah Smith State Park.

This large home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, family room, large kitchen and dining area.
Bedroom accommodations consist of one king bed, one queen bed, and two twin beds. There is also a futon in the family room. The kitchen is large with plenty of cabinet space and a granite island.
The living room has a 50 inch flat screen TV with surround sound and computer with internet access. Wifi is also available. There are patio decks in the front and back of the home.
For your security there is a Ring surveillance camera located at the front of the garage monitoring the driveway. This is the only camera on the property.

Massively spacious home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and 2 family rooms (meaning 2 TVs!). Everything was in a fantastic condition. Surroundings are gorgeous. Close to Smith River and Hiouchi/Crescent City are a short drive away. Highly recommended.

This Smith River Home is beautiful and in a great location. Very close to Jedidiah Smith SP and within walking distance to the Smith River. Home has everything you could need for your stay, was very clean and the hosts are excellent. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay with wildlife in the backyard, this is it. One of our favorite VRBOs out of hundreds. We will definitely return.

A Memorable VRBO home
The reviews on this wonderful house were accurate and true. Spacious, clean wonderful location to Howland Hill road and redwoods and swimming in the Smith river. A true playground of nature for kids. Great for entertaining and family meals. The Boy Scout Trail and Stout Grove hike nearby are simply an incredible awesome delight. Would recommend highly; hope to return 🌟

Mike was very clear in communicating and giving instructions . The house was beautiful and immaculate! We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and they supplied us with coffee! It is the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting the redwoods and Howland Hill drive. I would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you!

It looked cozy and so inviting. The pictures don't do it justice.
My sister and I drove to see our parents for the holidays. They are building there house and it was suppose to be done by Christmas, but do to the rain they could not finish it... So we had know place to have Christmas. We thought we have to find a nice place that will fit all our relatives. So we went on VRBO and there wasn't many places available due to it being such short notice... We needed to get a Christmas tree and decorate and it was Christmas Eve... So when we arrived and walked through the door Mike had put up a beautiful Christmas tree😃 We jumped up and down like kids lol it was such a nice surprise. Mike saved our Christmas;)))) the place was so beautiful. The best chistmas yet.... So thankful

Great home in redwoods
Great big house. Very close to howland hill road. Perfect for base camp to go hiking and biking in that area. House is large with plenty of room for decent sized family. Well stocked with most everything you'll need. Pans and cooking utensils on the low end.

Feels like home away from home!
Visiting the giant redwoods of northern California has been a bucket list item of ours for years, so we wanted this trip to be special. The trees did not disappoint, and neither did the Hiouchi Hideaway. The home is so comfortable, clean, and just the right size for any group. The Ovick's ensure there are plenty of amenities available in the home and are available quickly via vrbo messaging. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. We highly recommend the Hiouchi Hideaway and we look forward to staying there in the future.

Absolutely perfect!
Our son chose this property so that we could all experience the redwoods area, and the location could not have been better for reaching all of the trails, the nearby river and the Pacific coast.There is a notebook inside where each visitor has said the same-just the best! The house is lovely, spacious, comfortable, and even had 2 bath tubs! Everything was there for cooking, they left us ice and coffee...it was just awesome! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
