WATERFRONT Home - Dolphins, Sunsets, Fishing, Kayaks, Canoe, Wildlife

One of the newest built homes on Live Oak Island. This modern and spacious 2007 1,930 sq ft 3 Bedroom plus bedroom loft home is on the water and has themed coastal decorations throughout, perfectly situated near the neighborhood boat launch and at the edge of St. Marks Wildlife Refuge. Superb views of bay, Gulf of Mexico and canals. Set on pilings with a large deck mezzanine and the main living area and deck on the third level. There is an 3 stop indoor elevator available by request for those needing assistance.

Our favorite parts of the day consists of viewing the various wildlife, listening to the mullet jump, watching the dolphins enter the bay to feed, enjoying the sunset from any of the deck levels or paddling the canoe/kayak out into the bay and canoe trails. You are minutes away from Shellpoint Beach, Golf, and the St. Marks Lighthouse.

The home has Hughesnet Sattelite WiFi for checking mail, central heat and air, washer/dryer, gourmet kitchen completely stocked with everything you need but your food (including upscale appliances-gas stove and a convection oven). There are ceiling fans and televisions in all bedrooms (5 HD LED flat screens in total). Master suite opens out onto the upper deck. The master bath includes the laundry, a jacuzzi tub, bidet, and spacious walk-in closet.

The 4th level loft allows for more sleeping possibilities with a queen and twin bed and living area with a large 55 inch HDTV flat screen smart television, dvd and gaming systems (Wii and XBox 360).

Main living area includes gas-powered fireplace, dining area, and large 55 inch flat screen smart television with Blu-ray/dvd player and surround sound system. Dish Network Satellite (America's Top 200) is provided in both the den and loft common areas. The three bedrooms have TV Reception by HDTV over-air antenna with 13 local channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CW, PBS, Bounce, Create, AccuWeather, Get TV, FL Channel, and ME TV). A library of books, magazines, cds, dvds, board games are provided for your use. But most of your time will probably be spent enjoying the views, the quiet sounds of nature, outdoor propane grill, patio tables, kayak/canoeing, fishing (4 poles provided), and exploring the area. There is a set of Callaway Big Bertha graphite irons as well as a basketball goal and Head tennis rackets for your use. Three mountain bikes are also available for riding on these quiet palm and oak hammocked streets.

Master Suite has a queen bed, master bath and sitting area
Bedroom 2 - Queen bed

Short vacation in the area
We thoroughly enjoyed our too short stay at your home. The house was very well provided with everything we needed. My wife was especially appreciative of the elevator! I enjoyed the kayaks, and caught some nice sea trout and redfish. Peaceful and quiet, saw an alligator, and enjoyed watching the dolphins play and feed from the balcony. Perfect for two mostly retired couples to get together for a reunion.

Making Memories
This home is beautiful and the property is described spot on. My family enjoyed every minute of our stay. There is lots to see and do in the area. Shell Beach was a plus as was the Aquarium touch tanks in Panacea for the kids. The kayaks on the property were a big hit. There’s so much room to spread out when you may need a little quiet time. The view is awesome. The games inside and out kept us all engaged. The kitchen is well stocked for any type of cooking. The hosts were easy to communicate with. My family has stayed at a lot of homes throughout our vacations. This one rates at the top of our list.

Great location
Beautiful, private location overlooking the bay with stingrays, mullets and dolphins. The elevator is a must! The home is in need of a deep cleaning and some recaulking would go a long way. There were a few items we wish we would have brought with us. Sleeping masks would have been great since there are no window coverings in the east bedroom or loft. There's no large baking dish or 9X13 pan. We used two different sized smaller pans for a dish and timing was a challenge. We also missed not having plastic wrap. The ice maker is fickle and didn't make ice for a couple of days so just in case, a bag in the freezer would have been nice. There are adult life preservers but none that are sized for a child. We spent a lot of time on the deck. We had a couple of really beautiful sunsets.

Great peaceful setting for family time
This home had everything we could have needed. Even plenty of extra linens. We greatly enjoyed kayaking all over the area as it’s nice and calm and wonderful wildlife to observe. The bald eagle catching and struggling to carry dinner to land, an osprey carrying its small dinner, a skate going under the kayak, and more. Great family time playing cornhole, basketball and board games out on the deck. We look forward to repeating a stay here again next year.

Perfect for Nature Lovers!
We spent 2 weeks in this house and hated to leave. Being right on the water with huge, fully furnished porches, overlooking the bay and a view to the gulf, was incredible. Sunset was a big event every evening. The house is nicely laid out, spacious and light and airy in design. The beds were all super comfortable. Loved the elevator. We kayaked right from the property, saw lots of mullet, dolphins , a shark , a cobia , sting rays and needle fish and blue crabs. The osprey, king fishers, and elegant egrets are plentiful and put on quite a show fishing and eating their catch. We disturbed a flock of ibis when walking along the road. The kitchen is well stocked and we had the best dinners out on the deck. Plenty of comfortable seating in the open great room. This is a home where you really felt the care and generosity of the host family. The only downside was the master shower had some leaks around the base of the fixtures (so we ended up showering in the other bathroom) and the grout really could use a good cleaning. Otherwise the house was in pristine condition. We definitely plan to return to this wonderful home!

Incredibly relaxing property! Hated to leave....
This was one of the nicest rentals we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. I was in awe when we arrived and felt the peacefulness of the area sink in immediately, my first thought was I wouldn’t leave the premises! The view is even nicer than the pictures show. Sitting on the large upper deck, we watched dolphins feeding, so close we could hear them blowing air out there blow holes! Then saw them swimming by two more mornings. The house is very large and well laid out. I loved that it is fully stocked! No need to drag all the household supplies along, which is always a hassle at other rentals. And all the extras included, such as bikes, kayaks, so many extras to enjoy your stay. We loved the area as well, so quiet and laid-back. Enjoyed St Mark’s, Wakulla Springs, and just relaxing on the property. Cannot wait to return, and stay longer!

Awesome and quiet getaway
We stayed in this house for a week. The house is very nice, well maintained, in a secluded and quiet location, and right on the water. We all enjoyed the kayaks and canoes (provided), the wonderful sunsets on the deck, and the dolphins swimming in the bay. The host communication was excellent. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay
We had such a fun time at this VRBO. All the kayaks, canoe, and bikes made every day and adventure. We saw dolphins in the bay nearly every day. The place is very clean and has all the needed amenities. Best of all, the beds were so comfortable to sleep in and no one had any back or neck issues the following day due shoddy mattresses. We had a great time, thanks for sharing your place.

Relax - and watch the dolphins
Excellent property located in a quiet, remote area of the panhandle. We went to visit our son in Tallahassee - 40/45 minute pleasant drive. Owner’s recommendations for food and activities are spot on. We did the aquarium, a boat ride at Wakulla Springs, a drive out to Alligator Point, the Lighthouse, and St. Marks. If you’re looking for a bit more night life on Friday/Saturday, there’s a rowdy crowd at the Riverside Cafe. We also enjoyed St. Marcos de Avalanche State Park. Very clean, well appointed house to rent. Thank you.

Family Vacation
The house was beautiful! It was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the sunsets. It was very quiet and provided a very relaxing atmosphere. We didn't get to see any dolphins or manatees, but we enjoyed watching for them. Our family had a great vacation! We had a few issues with some of the extras that were provided. Two of the Kayaks had holes in the bottom which ended up causing a concerning situation when we were out in the water. The adult bikes were very rusty making it difficult to go on longer rides. One of the bikes did not have working breaks. Two of the three Wii remotes did not work even after replacing the batteries. The internet was very slow as mentioned, however checking email was still problematic. We appreciated all of the extra amenities and we made several trips to the beach.

Quiet and tranquil
We so enjoyed our stay. I travelled with older adult family members so quiet and tranquil fit the bill. The view is beautiful-one can go out on the decks and just take in the water, wetlands and nature. We did not see any dolphins but that did not detract from the beauty. Just as a clarifying point, there are two full baths not three. Also, it was a glitch the week we were there, but I was never able to access wifi. I did not bother the owners once I made the initial inquiry when it was not working but given that they are very attentive to the needs of their guests, had I made an issue of it, the owner would have acted on it. I just decided it was a message for me that I should take it easy:) All in all, I rate the property and the care of the owners as excellent.

Excellent property and location, very much as advertised. We will definitely be going back in the future. One trick, for a hot shower at the main bath, turn on the hot water at the sink to kick the instant hot water heater into higher gear.
