"We went to relax while looking at the water and fish a little and we got just what we wanted. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had! Perfect weather, good fishing just outside the back door, and several great outside spots to enjoy it all. Plus, Cotter has a nice little park/boat launch area that we enjoyed too.Our group was supposed to be 3 couples but ended up with 2. Very comfortable for 2 but would have been okay with 3 and pushing a couple twins together. Had a nice screened in porch, outdoor relaxation area with a view, and chairs down in a grassy area by the water with an even better view. The inside was pretty nice but, other than sleeping and the kitchen, we didn't use it much. Beds were fine and the two bathrooms were nice but we were impressed by the extras in the kitchen. Most rentals have the bare minimum and terrible pots/pans but this was well stocked. Lots of spices, oil, plastic bags, laundry detergent, and all those little things that are annoying to buy while on vacation for one use. We cooked almost all our meals at the house and had no issues. They provided gas and charcoal grills too.We rented a boat in Cotter but also floated from the house in kayaks down to the Cotter boat launch which took just over 2 hours. When the water level was low, we used waders and waded out from the back yard and caught a limit of trout. My wife even caught a nice brown and a bruiser rainbow just wading in a little ways in water shoes!"
