We loved our stay.
Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely traditional cottage. The village is lovely, you can buy your essentials from the village shop (Post Office). The cottage is well situated within the village and there are lovely walks nearby. Although the weather was brilliant, the nights were getting chilly so we welcomed the log burner which kept us nice and cosy. The host was on hand with information about the area and advised us about the best places to visit in this beautiful part of the country. The welcome gifts were really appreciated, thank you to the owners. We would stay again.

Well enjoyed break
Cottage is well equipped, comfortable, warm and cosy. Owner is very nice and caring. He responded immediately to our small concern. Lovely village. Cottage is opposite a lovely restaurant, 3 min walk to pub (which was shut unfortunately....locals fundraising to open it up) 5 min walk to a well stocked Post Office. Parking is on a public carpark, parking is free, 1 min walk from cottage. Owner is laying a carpark space by the cottage which will be more convenient. Would recommend staying here. Very comfortable and homely.

Lovely Christmas Break
Really appreciated the Christmas decorations and exceptional welcome pack. Cottage lovely and clean with a little garden, that would have been most practical in more suitable weather. The log burner was superb. Good village shop that was not overpriced for logs. Looked like it was well stocked with most things you could need. The only negative to the whole trip was the permanent closure of the local pub. It was a shame that we could not meet the locals for a chat and a little drink.

Smithy College Review
The cottage itself was located in a beautiful village surrounded by lovely scenery and walks. It was comfortable, clean and an ideal base to explore other scenic spots for hiking or biking. A welcome back of food and drink awaited us which was most welcome after our long journey. Aled the owner made a point of calling to check that all was well and gave us some recommendations of places to visit. The locals were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. We had some great evenings of chat, singing and craic with them at the local pub that also serves great food. There is also another restaurant in the village that has superb food. We would recommend this location and will go back to visit. Fiona, Donal and Shane

Peaceful stay
We have a dog who is very anxious of loud noises especially fireworks. The cottage and location could not have been better. The cottage is in a lovely village in a farming community so there was no fireworks all week including bonfire night. The cottage itself is well presented and had everything we needed. We will definitely consider staying again.

Family Holiday August 2021
We had a fantastic stay at Smithy Cottage, the owner was lovely and suggested lots of places to visit which we did. Whilst the property is in a small quite remote village, it is near enough to larger towns with everything that you need and only short drives to many beaches. We would highly recommend and definitely visit again.

Perfect location and property
Both practical and generous welcome pack, super comfortable beds and everything you need to be comfortable in this classy cottage. Beautiful and varied walks from the door, set in a pretty and friendly village. We had fantastic weather so also enjoyed the courtyard garden which was a sun trap edged with fragrant flower beds. We enjoyed kayaking, mountain walks in the Berwyn mountains and visiting waterfalls. Could have easily stayed longer as there’s so much to do! Thank you!

Lovely
We have just spent a week in this lovely, well equipped, comfortable cottage. It really met all our expectations... the owners left us tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, preserve and sparking wine which was such a treat. The village was delightful... we ate and drank in The Dudley Arms which I can highly recommend and everyone was so friendly. The local shop sold everything we needed including home made Thai curry’s which were delicious. All in all it was a perfect place for a weeks stay in wales.

Wonderful stay
We have just returned from a lovely week at Smithy cottage. We were greeted with a really good welcome tray of bread, welsh butter and lots more. The cottage was really clean and has plenty of room. The evenings were a bit chilly so we took full advantage of the wood burner which warmed up downstairs a treat. The owners really have thought of everything, Netflix, everything you need in the kitchen and big comfy sofas and beds. We met the owners briefly outside by chance and they were very friendly. Would definitely recommend Smithy cottage.

Great time!
We had a lovely week in this fab cottage. If had everything we needed, and a lovely cosy feel . It was in a great location, and although a wet and windy week, we still had a fab time walking , cycling and splashing around in the nearby lake Bala. An area we will definitely return too, and not as busy as neighbouring Snowdonia.
