"A brilliant construction and location in the stunning gorge location. Lovely room and large patio to enjoy breakfast alongside the roaring river. Parking was manageable at the roadside, and the lift ideal between floors. The owner and waitress were charming and informative, but we were both startled and disappointed at the continuing grumbles from the receptionist, especially when asked about messages that my daughter had sent there."

"The hotel interior is beautifully designed and the riverside garden immaculate. However it lacked the service we expected. No lunch time bar snacks but the restaurant opposite offers a full lunch and dinner menu. The additional charge for breakfast was excessive. The hotel is outside the town of Corte so we needed a taxi to and from the railway station which was very expensive given the short distance."

"The shower has nothing where to hang the hose, so you have to hold the hose with one hand and try to use the soap with your free hand. I am not used to this torture. No curtains or contaiiner for the water so all the bathroom gets wet. Bad mood of the manager, impolite at worse."

"I’d like to write about this apartment, but can’t because, despite booking and paying for it 5 weeks in advance, the apartment was given to someone else. We didn’t meet the owner either who, when we phoned him, we were told he’d made an ‘error’, and that was the end of the conversation. Perhaps a mistake, but probably not, and the inconvenience of having to find other accommodation at 8.00 in the evening was unbelievable (Corte has real accommodation shortages). I don’t recommend anyone...

"At the Duc de Padoue, the team really cares about their customers’ well being. They go out of their way to help. This includes organizing transport - even beyond Corte. The hotel is walkable from the train station and central to all the sights. Restaurant recommendation was super. The room was renovated and spacious. The breakfast great. Can’t say enough positive about the hotel and its staff. Stay here. Merci Martha et Agnes. "
