Disliked: Staff & service
Unsafe slippy unlit paths to shepherds huts.
Try to charge extra items for breakfast when included in the fee.
Comfy beds and lovely fire when we got it lit.
We had a lovely stay! The food was fabulous, obviously.
We wondered around the next morning and enjoyed the views. It was exactly what we needed and more.

Quirky value for money
Delighted to revisit the Rudloe Arms with its eccentricities, it’s amazing artwork and ‘Mousey Thompson’ furniture, and of course, the fabulous food. This has to be the best value for money in Britain’s hotel industry. Sure it’s quirky but is very casual and relaxing too. I look forward already to my next visit.
We had a great stay. Our dinner was excellent & we couldn’t fault a thing.
Our room was in the annexe and was lovely, clean & a good size.
The main house is full of interest art, photos & antiques.
Only negative was the damp/fousty smell in the entrance & lounges.
This wouldn’t stop us returning which we definitely will do!
Turned away at arrival, told that they didn’t have space and our place had cancelled. No remorse told they would help with a refund, had no contact about cancelling. Horrendous a wasted five hour trip!
Shepherds hut stay was an amazing experience, the wood burners inside and out were a lovely addition. Food was good but found the menu disappointing particularly when it came to the puddings
Amazing value.
I realise that marco piere white owns the hotel and the expectation is Michelin dinining. But how can you expect to stay in such an amazing place and get dinner and breakfast for about£160?
Definitely recommend.
Fantastic hotel. Loved everything about it. Lovely rooms, in fact I couldn’t fault anything.
Lovely lovely lovely hotel.

Hard to sum up our stay. Check in - took everything into main building only to be told our room was in the annex. Poor signage to find our room. Dinner - cheapest bottle of wine £45, very small glass of house red £10. Choice of only 3 main courses, cover charge, service charge and water charge - supplements everywhere. Breakfast - unchewable bratwurst and £5 orange juice as the man himself watched on! It was worth it for the telling of the tale to our family and friends!
A unique experience. Room beautiful, dining great, hotel amazing with beautiful antiques and fascinating artwork. Very quirky but wonderful. Grounds are quite overgrown but allows for wildlife . Can highly recommend staying here.
Found the staff very rude had to ask three times for some toast for breakfast never did get it and waited half an hour just for coffee. Also everything is extra eg- £5 jist for an orange juice for breakfast and £5 just for sides with
Your min meal . And also service charge for breakfast and evening meal lots of hidden extra charges beware !
A great experience at a very quirky and stylish hotel, that has high levels of service, interior design, artistic features within a great location, making our stay really special and enjoyable. The restaurant here is also run to high standard within a unusual setting surrounded by large plants in pots, but food here is to be savoured and enjoyed.
The hotel and grounds were very cool and quirky. Lots of unusual artwork which gave it a great atmosphere.
The breakfast and dinner were outstanding, absolutely delicious and Marco showed an appearance. The staff in the restaurant are friendly and provide a great service.
The bedroom was nice with a really large bathroom. The only negative was the room wasnt particularly clean and had no tea or coffee literally nothing. Also we had a roll top bath but the shower head and hose were missing.
The reception staff need training as they are not particularly welcoming and this is obviously your first impression of the hotel.
Overall it was a great stay, in a stunning area with delicious food, give it a try!
Second time visit here rooms good size very comfortable beds.Food excellent nothing too much trouble overall excellent experience. Quirky and fascinating lounges to explore
This property definitely has a lot of character! The main house room we stayed in was lovely and spacious, very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Food was great. All in all great value for what we paid.
The hotel was really quirky like an old haunted house and we loved it. The staff and clientele were really friendly. The food was good. The ambience was lovely. We will definitely return.
