Artist's Home with King Bed 3 Blocks from the Bay

When you arrive at Casa Calypso in this historic neighborhood, you will immediately relax in the chill vibe of this airy, light filled space. Kick off your shoes, grab a cold one and go for a swing in the hammock. Plan your trip to the beach, under a 30 min drive away - play, swim in the surf, sunbathe.
Or go for a stroll along the bay; just a 20 minute walk to water views. Enjoy a seafood dinner downtown; a 10 min drive away.
Return to your private sanctuary and relax, rinse (off) & repeat!

**PLEASE NOTE** I do live on the property; in the little "casita" in the back yard. I can be available for any questions; otherwise my priority is to give my guests as much privacy as I can, while still living on the property. So if you need complete privacy, my home may not be a good fit for you!

Under a 30 minute drive from house to beach. 10 minute walk to bay front, 5 more to kid-magnet Cole Park. 10 minutes to Downtown, 15 minutes to attractions Concrete Street Ampitheatre, Whataburger Field, American Bank Center, Hurricane Alley water park, The Lexington, Texas State Aquarium. 10 minutes to La Palmera Mall and many restaurants. 30 minutes to N. Padre Island, 40 minutes to Port Aransas. Bus stop is one block away.

I have filled my home with original art, functional antiques, lovely rugs - and NO clutter! Most people when entering my home comment on the "good energy" You will LOVE calling this place home for your stay here in Corpus Christi. As we say here; "Mi casa es su casa!" (my house is your house).

Fun cottage
We were in for a big dog show downtown so this location was convenient. Our host was gracious. She does live behind the house in a casita but met us and then left us to our visit. The house and yard are beautiful, very well decorated.

The home is exactly as photos show. Lots of interesting art, books and photos. Plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable. Comfortable beds, nice shower and linens. Felt safe in the neighborhood and the location was perfect for our planned activities. Overall, a lovely stay.

So wonderful!!
It was a stroke of luck to find a rental a few doors down from the family we were visiting, but it was a complete serendipity that it wound up being so wonderful. The house is simply to die for. My kids wanted to move there permanently, Brenda was a dream, and I was more relaxed than I have ever been at a rental. Do not hesitate. This is the house you want to stay at. We will definitely be back!!!

Well-kept property both inside and out. Beautifully decorated, homey, cozy and private. All the comforts of home away from home. Very nice 2 bedroom 1 bath home with a welcoming feel. The beds are queen and king size so plenty of space for sleeping. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans for cooking meals. Back patio is relaxing. Bottled water with dispenser is provided. The neighborhood felt safe and you are within close proximity to a grocery store, hospital, the ocean. Owner stays in a casita on the property which is nice should you need anything. If not, she is rarely seen. Overall, my 80 year old mother and I had a very nice stay in a home that provided space to meet all our needs. Highly recommend the property over a hotel.

Tropical vacation retreat
We stayed in Casa Calypso for 2 weeks, and had a great time. We loved perusing the original art and the old prints that populate every wall. We also love the colorful interior design - a vacation ambiance. Brenda was friendly and responded promptly to our questions. She provides luggage racks, so our suitcases were very accessible. Also, she has thoughtfully labeled the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom - no scavenger hunting! The internet speed was at least 100 mbps, which is plenty fast for any task, including streaming. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfy. The backyard is very welcoming and the patio is sheltered by a large pergola. Overall, the stay was a tropical vacation treat.

Brenda was a wonderful host. I contacted her since I was arriving early to see if I could drop my bags at her house while waiting for my family to drive in. She allowed me to come early and I was able to chat with her for a while. The art was beautiful and if we had any issues, she responded within 2-3 minutes. My family and I definitely enjoyed staying there,. One of my favorite items was her cat who was so calm, and sweet. She would be out on the patio getting some sun (even though it was blazing hot) relaxing. She had no issue with getting interrupted to get some love though. I would definitely stay here again.
