Must have true 4x4 vehicle to access the property via beach road. (6.75 miles from the paved road) sugary sand, ground clearance could be an issue. 7.5”+ of ground clearance is recommended.
Air down tires to 18-20psi.

Only a short walk (1500ft) to the beach from this 4th row beach cottage. Enjoy the 4x4 family friendly beach. Located near the Corolla wild horses, great surf fishing, with magnificent sun rises and sun sets. A short drive to shopping, dinning, the Corolla historic village and light house. Public boat launch located at Carova park.

Enjoy the ocean breeze on the large covered deck of this cottage with a screened in room for a private setting. Two king master suites. Full size bunk beds in hall loft. 2.5 bath with an outdoor shower to rinse sand and salt from the ocean. Spacious kitchen with dining room table.

Bath towels, sheet and bed spreads. cleaned between guests.
Disinfected between renters.
Includes washer and dryer usage.
Charcoal grill provided. Please bring your own charcoal.
Dogs are the only pets permitted, pet fee applies.
NO FIRES in fireplace.
NO FIRES in yard.
In season rents Saturday to Saturday.

Going to Carova/Corolla was a bucket list trip for me. It didn’t disappoint. I saw lots of horses, lazy days on the beach and relaxing afternoons and evenings. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful Get-Away
The house was the most equipped and comfortable of any that we've ever visited. The seclusion was everything that I expected and more. The beach was beautiful and we were able to see plenty of horses during our visit.

Well designed, cozy and relaxing stay
We appreciate all the attention to detail the hosts put towards ensuring guests have a relaxing stay, including the pantry, laundry, beach supplies and games, books, movies and puzzles. The beds were comfortable and linens and towels great condition. Two coffee pot options a plus and beach access easy yet secluded. Great stay! Would definitely recommend to others.

This was like our home away from home. It is extremely clean and comfortable. The owners thought of everything you might need and provided it. The outdoor living spaces are perfect for relaxing and playing games. Our family enjoyed it so much that they want to go back

Gem in Paradise
Shore Relaxing is an amazing place. The house is absolutely beautiful and in a great location. We spent time hiking False Cape State Park (VA)...we found a gate to enter from NC. We also explored the Currituck Beach Lighthouse Park/Maritime Museum and hiked Currituck Banks Preserve. The wild horses made daily visits which excited, cautiously, our dog Roscoe. We look forward to a return to Shore Relaxing and would recommend to family and friends.

Serenity and Relaxation
From the start of our reservation through our stay the property owners were very responsive to any questions we had. The property was bright, spacious, very clean and perfect for our stay. We loved the ability to cook some meals and appreciated having some of the basic seasonings and condiments available. The location was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the 4 x 4 beach along with plenty of sightings of the wild horses. Perfect stay! We highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting to escape to a quiet remote area with all the amenities.

The name of this property says it all. The house was beautiful and clean. The wrap around deck was incredible. The proximity to the beach was fabulous. We saw horses a few days even got to see a baby sea turtle crossing. The owners were so responsive when we had questions and they had the house fully stocked with everything we needed.

Perfect Week
Brought my son to Outer Banks for his last vacation pre-College. The house was perfect. Clean. Everything we needed. Owner was gracious and over accommodating. I can’t say enough great things. It’s a perfect place for a small family or even two couples. Being able to bring our two small dogs made it even better.

Excellent stay
We had a great time and loved this property- very close to the beach, easy drive or walk. Property was very clean and nicely decorated, and had many nice/comfortable little touches. The hosts were very thoughtful, leaving a baby gate for the stairs and sippy cups for the kids. Beds comfortable, our son loved the bunk bed set up. Outdoor shower was wonderful, the deck and screened porch were lovely. The photos do not do this property justice, can’t say enough great things about it.

Such a relaxing vacation
Can not say enough great things about this beach house! Hosts were great house was immaculate. They really thought of everything and even have your furry companions in mind which we really appreciated. Location was perfect for us. We saw horses everyday and even got to watch them graze in the backyard. This was everything we had hoped and more. We will definitely return ! 🐴☀️🌊

Wonderful Vacation!
Beautiful location! The house is amazing. The cleanest VRBO house I have stayed at, spotless. Lots of extras in the house in case you forget something. Beds are comfortable. The host are very friendly and super helpful. I texted a few questions and got immediate responses. They even went by the grocery store to help with a problem I had with a delivery order. We really enjoyed our vacation here.

Another Magical Week!
This is our second year staying at this beautiful and private beach cottage. We returned because it is now one of our favorite places for vacation. Our hosts Jim and Sue’s home is very clean, organized and has everything we need for our stay. The cottage is very comfortable with pretty décor through out. Communication with our hosts was prompt and friendly when we had a question. The location of the beach cottage is perfect with beach views and easy access to the beach. We love Carova for the exciting drives on the beach and the beautiful wild horses! We will definitely be back again to this very special place!

The Second Time Was Better Than The First
Our second year here was even more remarkable than the first! The owners keep one of the best properties we’ve ever stayed at! There were so many things we didn’t have to bring this year since they already had them, which made the entire experience less stressful on our whole family. We couldn’t wait to watch the sunrise from the top porch and play nightly games on the main porch! Corn hole and ladder toss below deck were awesome too. Comfortable beds and a cozy house make coming off the beach even sweeter. Thank you again for an incredible trip!

Simply Amazing!
Shore Relaxing is a truly unique experience for those wishing to get away and relax. Wild horses roaming into the yard, the ocean and sunset views, and quick sandy walk to the water were all amazing. The cottage was beautiful and the hosts thought of everything a family (and pet) could need. The layout worked perfect, and we enjoyed many afternoon naps in the comfortable beds. We loved driving to the beach and setting up camp for the day, but still being close enough for anyone wanted to walk back. The kids enjoyed boogie boarding in the brisk water and Tropical Storm Elsa added some excitement. We’re so grateful for the time away and hope to return one day!

Magical
Carova Beach is magical - as if time stood still. In my opinion, this is one of the loveliest houses out there. It is SPOTLESSLY clean, it has everything you need and the old world style of the home is the icing on the cake. Couldn’t be any more relaxing. The beach is BEAUTIFUL and a two minute walk from the house. Be prepared! There is NOTHING in Carova Beach. Bring water and food unless you plan on going back and forth to the pavement which isn’t exactly easy. MIND THE TIDES when getting on and off. Travel at low tide especially if you are inexperienced with 4 wheel driving. A beautiful place - we will be back. Tires down to 18!!!

Best house on 4x4!
This was my families 10th year in OBX staying on the 4x4 and this house was perfect in every way! The best layout, from the 1 set of stairs to get to the main living, the beautiful deck with sliding gate. We loved the screened porch. The convenience of the fabulous outside shower, first floor half bath and laundry room. The vintage sinks and many antiques throughout the house are awesome and we loved the open shelves in the kitchen. The bedrooms were the perfect size and love the added bonus full size bunk beds. This was the first house that was not covered in cobwebs outside it was clean clean clean, this home is so well cared for, better then ANY house we have stayed in previously. And to top it all off, there was a pantry area with many staple kitchen items as well! The owners are wonderful people and are close by if anything is needed. Can’t wait to go back next September!

4WD and pups venture to OBX
Drove three days to come to OBX! Waited until Hurricane Lee had left the area and ventured out onto the beach. I drive a small 4WD SUV and yes folks, got stuck but my fault for driving up wrong "bridge" as they call them AND not engaging 4WD. Hints. Bring groceries! Instacart is almost non-existent. Air down! Met someone who helped me air down to 15 PSI, I was at 20-25, too high. The home is beautiful. The view from the master BR deck is astounding. The breeze is amazing AND seeing the Spanish mustangs running on the beach.....incomparable to anything I've experienced. Thanks again for allowing me and my two pups an excellent location to relax and drive on the beach!
