Charming Carova Cottage on 4x4 beach, Heated Pool, Hot Tub, Close Beach Access

Perfect cottage on the 4x4 beach for an adult getaway or two families with kids. Consider this gem as a remote get-a-way with 9 miles of beach driving after the pavement ends in Corolla, adding to the fun. 4wd vehicles are a must for your trip to Splash of Lime.

Enter the main floor from your front decks and the space opens up to the great room with living area, dining space and fully equipped kitchen.

This main level has two bedrooms... one with a king bed and full private bath (walk-in shower) and the other with a twin-over-full bunk plus a separate twin. There is a full bath in the hallway, plus the laundry room.

The rear deck is off the kitchen and is perfect for sunsets and overlooks the pool.

Upstairs there is an identical setup to below... one king room with full private bath and another room with a twin-over-full bunk plus a separate twin. There is also another full bath in the hallway.

Ground-level below the house provides wonderful space for the hot tub, outdoor shower, charcoal BBQ grill, hammocks, hanging daybed, corn hole, picnic table, and plenty of space for games. Horses come by most days.

No parking allowed under the house is allowed, all cars must stay on the sand.

The pool is open mid-April through end of October. The pool can be heated for a $300 weekly fee in April/May and Sept/Oct.

Doggos are welcome! Pet fee is $250, an additional fee may be applied for multiple animals as appropriate, please check with Marty.

Fun Fall Destination
We enjoyed ours stay at Splash of Lime! Our family enjoys adventure and solitude, we checked all the boxes here. The 4x4 experience is fun (maybe a little too exciting at high tide with a full moon). The horses! Awesome! They made many stops by the house. Area is very cool and house offers everything you would need. Great visit!

We had a great stay at Splash of Lime. The house was lovely, and it was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies (crockpot, blender, etc.). Marty was very responsive with any questions, and we would highly recommend staying.

The house was amazing in every way, I’m already ready to go back!! The only thing I could say negative is i was told a 4-wheel drive was recommended not mandatory and got stuck and started my vacation $575 in the hole, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 4wheel drive to stay here !!

March in Outer Banks
The home enabled us to enjoy our stay in the Outer Banks. We were unfamiliar with the area and the 4X4 beach driving, but love learning new things. The weather was not the best, but with the comforts of the home, we were had a relaxing time playing games, enjoying the hot tub and binge watching TV. The place is quite clean. And I am very picky about that. So thank you for ensuring a comfortable stay.

What a great stay we had over New Years 2024! Marty is very easy to work with and responsive to any questions. House has all you need! Open areas, nice size bedrooms, well stocked kitchen and even kitchen extras such as an Air Fryer! Highly recommend staying here. Horses walked right by one morning!

Exceptional stay!
This was an ideal space for our two families and we all thoroughly enjoyed the home and the setting. Eating in was easy with the kitchen tools provided and the lovely open floor plan added to the enjoyment. Nothing more cool than driving “home” via the beach…well, maybe wild horses walking around the house was. Martin was an excellent host- communicated important details regularly and was super helpful and accommodating with all of our questions and requests.

Beach adventure
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our host, Marty! The house is new, very clean, and well-appointed. Marty was a great help in timing the tide to get up the 4-wheel drive beach as the low-pressure system left over from Hurricane Ian traveled up through the Carolinas. Marty kept tabs on us during our stay and even offered to bring back groceries from town if needed. Will definitely go back!

Wow! What an amazing experience and host. The owner answered all questions we had very quickly, both before and during our trip. The property was exactly as described. New with plenty of room!
Lovely, clean accommodations! The ocean is just around the corner & you can park on the beach. Then cool off in the pool with toys for the kids. Just be aware that 9 miles is a LONG & BUMPY BEACH DRIVE so make sure you've brought everything you need including tons of bottled water (the house uses well water). You will see wild horses every day: on the dunes, along the shore, even in your back yard so don't pay for a tour. Enjoy!
