Paradosiakon apartment is only a stone's throw from the wide arch of the Spilia Gate, which is one of the historical entrances to the Old Town of Corfu. Beautiful renovated apartment closed between the two ancient fortresses, above Paradosiakon Restaurant that the owners run. Situated on the first floor with two bedrooms, a sitting and dining area, a small kitchen, a shower with washing machine and a balcony with amazing view to the new Fortress. Both bedrooms have double beds, one of which can be modified upon request in 2 twin beds. Paradosiakon is a fully equipped and air-conditioned apartment for four people. It is a short walk from the New Port, where the large cruise boats dock and just around the corner from a taxi rank and the very large car park next to the Old Port and the new Marina.
The whole of the Old Town can be explored on foot from this starting point, including the New (but not so new in reality) Venetian Fortress, the old sea wall area called Mourayia with its beautiful views of the mainland, the little nearby island of Vidos and the northern part of Corfu itself. Not much further are the Palace of St Michael and St George, the famous Liston with its Parisian-style arches and all its cafes, trees and the cricket pitch which is a legacy of the time when the British governed the island. It forms part of what is said to be the largest town square in Europe. On the far side of the square is the Old Fortress, which is the main landmark of Corfu. The Old Town is full of shops, cafes and places to eat large and small, and the little narrow and often meandering streets which make quite a labyrinth of the Old Town are worth strolling round just to look at the architecture and the pretty little squares.
