"We had a lovely stay at Una’s property. We were two sisters on holiday with our mother from Canada, who traces her ancestry back to multiple location in Ireland, so Una’s rental was a perfect choice as it wa more central, yet still close to Dublin, giving us the best of both worlds. Una was a wonderful host who immediately made us feel at home. The house had many amenities and clearly was prepared with thought and care, and we loved visiting the Weir’s restaurant next door, and particularly appreciated that they had vegan options! We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it. "

"Excellent hotel. Room was lovely and warm and cozy. Big rooms. Receptionist on arrival was very friendly and informative. The breakfast was great. Hotel great value for money. We stayed mid week in January and there was plenty of people there and alot going on. The grounds outside are beautiful. 10/10 would stay again. "

"We took an extended trip to Ireland and wanting to see multiple parts of the country opted to stay in the midlands. My husband found this listing on VRBO and we booked it. Best decision of the trip. This is a lovely home with a location that made it convenient to visit several other counties in the country. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was present, including some food items stocked upon our arrival which meant we didn’t have to go right out and shop. That wasn’t expected but much appreciated. The home has a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Several coffeemakers and a kettle. There is also a river where the name comes from to lull you to sleep at night. It took us no time at all to settle in. The homeowner maintained an outstanding level of communication and was quick with replys to help us with cultural confusion (we are American and needed some explanation for things like eir codes lol). I was sad to see our time in Mullingar end but if we return I wouldn’t hesitate to book Riven cottage. Not only is it a warm and welcoming property with a great owner but it’s within walking distance of downtown making shopping and days out convenient. I cannot recommend this listing enough."

"Una and Pat are great hosts. The lodging was absolutely wonderful. The village was quiet and peaceful and Tom enjoyed talking with the locals. Dinner at Weirs Pub and Restaurant was delightful. If we ever come back to Ireland, we would definitely make this a stop on our itinerary and stay longer next time! "
