You'll love our 2-bedroom hideaway in the woods overlooking Soda Butte Creek. It's the perfect blend of a mountain get-away with modern conveniences and comforts. Yellowstone National Park is only a few miles away, but you don't have to go anywhere to see abundant wildlife... we have resident fox, deer, elk, buffalo, eagles, and yes... even an occasional bear.
Each bedroom has a queen bed compression foam pad, down comforter. and luxurious down pillows. The bathroom features a double sink and vanity, heated hardwood floors, bath/shower, and luxurious thick towels. The living room features hardwood floors, plus it opens to a covered deck with incredible views of the creek and mountains. The hot-tub and sauna are just a few steps away, where you can relax right next to the creek.
The fully-equipped kitchen opens to the dining and living areas, and combined with the vaulted ceilings, provide you a spacious open feeling. The open loft creates the perfect spot for kids to enjoy their own space or to sleep with two queen beds available. Radiant hardwood floor heating throughout the entire cabin provides an incredibly comfortable living environment.
The adjacent heated breeze-way houses a washer and dryer. You can enjoy the big-screen tv with satellite service that also provides high-speed internet. Our coffeemaker provides gourmet coffee, or you can whip up a smoothie in the blender.
Cooke City, at an elevation of 7400 feet and only minutes from the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone National Park, offers two distinct seasons. Summer is filled with outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, ATVing, fishing, rafting, photography, and sightseeing, either in spectacular Yellowstone National Park or in the beautiful country surrounding the Park. Fall through spring presents world-class snowmobiling and backcountry/cross-country skiing in the most gorgeous of mountain settings.
The road to Cooke City from Gardiner, through Yellowstone National Park, is kept open year-round. To the east, Cooke City is accessible by Highway 212 from May through November, depending on snow depth. Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, Wyoming 296, climbs from the Cody area over majestic Chief Joseph Pass and then wanders through gorgeous Sunlight Basin before arriving at Cooke City. The Beartooth Highway, which twists and winds its way from Red Lodge, is open only through summer months, and is considered one of the most scenic drives in America.
