"We booked a room, showed up before checkin time and they were not operating yet for the season. Mistakes happen, so we weren’t too upset as we found a nearby room at Hotel Portobello . The groundskeeper told us to get a refund thru Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel, the hotel denied our refund. They said we didn’t cancel within the cancelation time frame?? This place is such a scam. I do not recommend unless you want to risk losing your money. "

"This lovely, mountainside hotel was one of our best stays anywhere EVER!! The owner/manager Sergi took care of us himself, since it was shoulder season and we had the hotel to ourselves, and his incredible Mama was the chef for one of our best meals in Italy -- or maybe anywhere.
