"Wasn't expecting ensuite to be across the hall from our room, although the Guesthouse reminded me of my childhood family weekends away. Conon Bridge station (former). This overgrown platform is almost all that now remains of Conon Bridge station, which was an intermediate station on the Inverness - Wick and Thurso ('Far North') line of the (former) Highland Railway. The station was opened (by the Inverness and Ross-shire Railway) on 11 June 1862. It closed to regular passenger traffic on 13 June 1960, the line itself remaining in use.
