"Didn’t tell you you had to make the room up and take down until after you book room. East just a pain to do after a full day of traveling. Our bed didn’t have right size sheets or blankets. "The room was cosy and sufficient for one night. It was tidy, but I could see it was wasn't wiped down properly after the previous guests, as I could still spot evidence of their stay here and there. Thankfully not enough to yuck me out. Conon Bridge station (former). This overgrown platform is almost all that now remains of Conon Bridge station, which was an intermediate station on the Inverness - Wick and Thurso ('Far North') line of the (former) Highland Railway. The station was opened (by the Inverness and Ross-shire Railway) on 11 June 1862. It closed to regular passenger traffic on 13 June 1960, the line itself remaining in use.
