Casselman Cabin Retreat

Casselman Cabin Retreat is a completely remolded cabin overlooking the Casselman River. Our riverfront property with upper and lower wrap around decks offer beautiful views, serenity, and relaxation. Our clean, well-equipped home is situated in the Laurel Highlands Mountains and is minutes away from the quaint little town of Confluence. Enjoy being steps away from the Casselman River, which is known for great Bass fishing. You can also grab an inner tube and take a relaxing float to Confluence. Casselman Cabin Retreat is also only one mile to the Great Allegheny Passageway Bike Trail.

Casselman Cabin Retreat is cozy enough for a romantic getaway but also offers a spacious, open floorplan which allows larger families, multiple families, and groups of friends to gather and socialize. The cabin will accommodate 15 people comfortably with 5 bedrooms, futon and 2 full bathrooms. Our kitchen is a delight to cook in and you can do so while spending time with loved ones sitting at the island or nearby dining room table. The home also includes a propane fireplace and an electric fireplace to snuggle up to.

The best place for a little R & R is in our well shaded back yard that has an open view to the Casselman River. Our propane gas grill is perfect for an outdoor dinner with a relaxing glass of wine or cup of coffee afterwards. Also enjoy making mountain pies and roasting marshmallows at the campfire with comfortable seating. Cornhole games, tossing a football or shooting some hoops on our small concrete court is always a great time. Casselman Cabin Retreat is also pet friendly (fees will apply) therefore, our completely fenced in back yard creates a spacious, safe area for your fur baby.

Featured amenities include but are not limited to; Dish and Smart TV in every bedroom and the living room, highspeed wireless internet, free local calls, washer/dryer, hair dryers, towels and bed linens, Keurig and regular coffee pot along with other small appliances. AT&T and Verizon both have a cell tower in Confluence and both work very well.

Casselman Cabin Retreat is open year-round, as we celebrate the natural beauty of our area during all four seasons. Each time of year offers an impressive view along with many activities appropriate for each season as well. Your adventure awaits as our area offers boating, fishing, kayaking, rafting, biking, hiking, skiing, sledding and so much more!

Peaceful, great for a family reunion
We had a great stay! Location was quiet and a little off the beaten path, with plenty of room for our large family. We loved hearing the nearby Casselman River burbling and the distant train whistles. Deneane was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The large, fenced backyard was great for our little ones and doggie. Nice hammock trees too! :) Ohiopyle and the GAP trail are amazing and within easy reach.

Better than the Listing indicated!!!!
We were there for Whitewater canoeing and a cycling holiday with 8 Canadians in our group. We have stayed at 2 other rental properties in Confluence and they couldn't compare at all to how fabulous this one was. We usually make breakfast, take a lunch for the river or bike trail and eat our dinners out, however, with such a large and well appointed kitchen we found ourselves wanting to cook our own meals, or should I say BBQ. There was so much room that we never felt on top of one another. We ate indoors and outdoors on such a lovely well gardened and maintained property. We will definitely want to return again and again. The river was just across the road and hopefully next time the water level will be higher and we can paddle directly from the property. This property was the best we have ever stayed at using VRBO!!! Well done!

Family Get Away at Casselman Cabin
We had an incredible stay at the Casselman Cabin property. The location in Penn allowed for a somewhat centralized point where family members from Baltimore MD and Dayton OH were able to meet for a get away. The house was as described with multiple bedrooms, spacious eating area and a large family room area where we were able to play games and watch movies. The kitchen was large and adequately equipped but would benefit with the addition of some sauce pans. There were plenty of towels, wash cloths and linens, and all of the pillows, bedding and linens smelled fresh and clean. The pictures of the cabin are accurate but we were surprised at how close the proximity that the house was to the road and to the neighbor. The Casselman Cabin was an excellent fit for our family and we would definitely rent it again for a family fun retreat. Thank you to our hosts

Fall Getaway
I had never been to the Ohiopyle area despite living in the region for 17 years. We found this house and it was a great base for enjoying all that the region has to offer. The water and air temps was as it was November, but in warmer months the proximity to the river would be fun to enjoy and play in. The house was exactly as listed. All kitchen equipment / tools were available and ready. House was clean. Checkout process was easy.

Great Laurel Highlands Stay
An excellent location for our family reunion. House was clean and comfortable with a very pleasant wrap-around porch, outdoor dining table and fire pit, and Deneane the host was terrific. It's nicely located on the river, within a walkable mile of a beautiful bike/hike trail running along the river. A very pleasant 25 minute drive from Kentuck Nob (the other Frank Lloyd Wright house in the area) that's well worth seeing.

October Trip
The property is very nice and as described, the location was not far from the many scenic areas we planned on visiting to take in the fall foliage. Due to the rain we didn't have the oppurtunity to explore the area around the cabin but as stated in the description it does sit direcly across from the water and it's not far from the bike trail. The only issue (not the fault of the owner though) the neighbors across the street were loud throughout the night with what sounded like they were having motorcycle races; it was unfortunate on our last night's stay. Overall I would recommend staying at this cabin especially if you like hiking, biking, nature trails, and the scenic landscapes and October is the the perfect month; and there was also the incredible Haunted Hollow attraction which was unexpectedly only 20 minutes away.

Birthday weekend
Overall the house was great! We did enjoy the fire pit. It was dog friendly with fenced yard and that was a big plus. It was a rainy weekend and the house was big enough to comfortably accommodate 13 and a dog since we all pretty much were inside except for one night. I did not like that we had a neighbor a stone throw away and the River did not have great access. The internet was super slow, but we are used to that and no big deal. There were only two bathrooms which we were aware of and that was dodgy at times lol I would give this house a 9.0/10 for aesthetically pleasing, but view I would give 6.5/10, and nothing you can do about that. Would recommend staying there for large groups and super easy to communicate with owner and close to many outdoor tourist locations, but due to the rain, we did not partake in those. Gotta take the pros with the cons and the pros outweighed the cons for sure.

Wonderful mountain retreat
The house was clean and roomy and well supplied with everything you need. The backyard was great for the dogs shaded by beautiful, mature oak trees, and had multiple seating options for sitting around a lovely fire pit. The area was quiet and remote and the nighttime chorus of crickets and frogs was almost deafening But still didn’t drown out the lovely river right next-door. The surrounding parks and quaint spots for eating made for a unique trip and a perfect anniversary getaway. Highly recommend.

Family Memories and Adventures
The cabin was comfortable, cozy and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Our family enjoyed hiking, fishing in the river, front porch conversations, camp fires, corn hole and the large kitchen for family meals! We had no issues but we had a few questions and the owners were very helpful and responded quickly. We are looking forward to a future stay at CCR.
