Just the right size for my family with fully equipped kitchen, baths and a blessed backyard. Located in a safe area and quick driving distance from the Walnut Creek downtown and Mt. Diablo
My brothers and I stayed at the Magnolia House for a peaceful and relaxing family weekend. The house had everything we needed to relax, the neighborhood was calm & quiet, and the backyard still had a bounty of oranges, grapefruits, and lemons. Thank you so much for such a lovely accommodation - would recommend to anyone looking for a stay in Concord!
This is a lovely home, well decorated and extremely comfortable The kitchen is well stocked, which I appreciated as someone who enjoys cooking. There are many fruit trees which the host allows guest to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had a great stay here. The home was beautiful, the beds were so comfortable. It was very clean. We picked some fruit off the trees and made fresh juice. The host responded very quickly & was very helpful for anything we needed.
The house was in a location convenient for our visit. The house was very clean and comfortable. Stocked with some basic food items and toiletries. Decor was very nice, plenty of indoor space, and a very nice outdoor space. We had no issues and would definitely recommend and stay again.
This was perfect for our family of 4. Each kid had their own room and there were 2 nice bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked, the coffee was good and we had all the comforts of home. The landscaping is heavenly - nice large grill, citrus trees with ripe lemons and oranges, fairy lights and gorgeous flowers.
The house was just as shown and described. It was perfect for my employees. Pat was a great host and was very accommodating. I definitely recommend this property!
Our good friends that we’ve known for 20 years have never been to the Bay Area. So we decided to schedule a trip. The first thing was to find a place to relax each evening as we completed our sightseeing. Our VRBO ic Concord was the perfect place. Nice and quiet and centrally located for our adventures. We are most gracious to Pat for allowing us to check in early. This was helpful given the two hour time difference and that we had early flights. We would certainly recommend this place and would stay here again. And if you love fruit, the backyard have several fruit trees. Simply amazing.
Home was lovely and comfortable. The fruited trees in the backyard offered an added bonus. During windy nights I could hear the apples fall on a neighbors' tin roof :) Would happily stay there again!
Pat was an excellent host. I was allowed to check in early without any issues. We have been using VRBO for three years and the beds were the most comfortable yet. The fresh fruit in the back yard was delicious. A very enjoyable stay. We will try to book Pat's house our next stay. We were there for 4 weeks.

The house was very nice and came with detailed instructions. Lots of fruit trees in the back that the owner allows you to pick from. We were traveling for the bottlerock festival in Napa. The prices in Napa were ridiculous so this was the perfect option with it being only a 30 min drive. Only downside was hallway bathroom tub drains very slow. Everything else was great.
This home is a perfect spot for a family looking to stay in the Concord/Walnut Creek area. The location is quiet with easy access to the highway. Looking to visit the city, the wine country or just take beautiful hikes at the foothills of Mt. Diablo Pat’s home is perfect. The well appointed and tastefully updated rooms were perfect for our family of four and if your attending to some business on your trip, there is an office which works great for Zoom meetings or just keeping up with email or other work related stuff. The kitchen is by far the best part of the home where you can cook pretty much anything you enjoy while entertaining in the open space layout. Finally, if you love fresh fruit the backyard is a treasure trove of citrus and other well established fruit trees. We could not have been happier! Thanks Pat for sharing your place with us.
The house is nice and perfect for a little group of people in a nice neighborhood with a nice backyard. There unfortunately were no extra hand towels, dish towels, or bath towels in the house other than 1 per person and 1 kitchen towel but the kitchen had a new set of skillets and pot. The kitchen sink only has hot water and scalding hot water which made it difficult to wash dishes or rinse veggies without burning yourself. There is also very minimal light in the bedrooms. Overall, we would stay here again, just would bring a few more things with us.
Great outdoor space with a pergola, table and chairs and fruit trees (plum, grapefruit, orange). Bedrooms had full sized beds, not queen sized as advertised. Other furnishings were nice, and the kitchen was conveniently located near family room with many seating options plus many utensils, coffee maker, pots and pans, etc. Air conditioning worked well once it got going - thermostat preset was confusing to reset/override program. There was an outdoor party one night down the street with a DJ, bouncy house, etc. with very loud music but they stopped before 11 pm. Neighborhood was quiet otherwise. Bathroom adjoining the primary bedroom was very small but had its own shower, toilet and sink. Overall, this was a nice place to stay. Conveniently located for trips to SF, Napa, etc.
I was in town due to a death in the family, and an estate we had to clean out. I was the primary occupant, but as family came into town to help pack up the house and sell belongings and split them between us I had a long line of people coming in and out, serving dinners sitting down and having deep discussions and generally working together to get the project finished.
This house was perfect for this since the property we needed to work on was in Danville. And the primary contact was located in Martinez the commute back-and-forth wasn’t bad to Danville , and the house worked out exactly like I thought it would.
The home was open and inviting from the very first minute I walked in there are three bedrooms, an office area and a main open area living dining. What is it listed on the property is that the couch is also a pull out bed , the backyard when I arrived was full of citrus fruits, and by the time I left, all the roses were blooming, and the figs were just starting to come in.
Amenities were above and beyond I never had to worry about finding something I needed to complete a meal everything was there.
If you are coming to California, this is a great place to stay. Location is very close to the highway so it’s easy to get in and out and everything you need it’s less than a mile away.
My only disappointment was that the bed in the main bedroom w/bath was a double bed and not a queen and an open vent.
If you choose to rent this property, you will not be disappointed!!
Our family stayed here during a reunion - 3 couples and one toddler. For such a small house, we were very pleased with the amount of common area space. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we had almost everything we needed. There were a couple quirks that could be addressed: kitchen faucet was loose, master toilet not working properly, guest bath shower very difficult to manipulate, very creeky hallway floor-- but none of these things dampered our time. The space is not decorated like the pictures at all. The space appears to be staged in decor for the photos, but actually it is a very homey vibe with more knick-knacks about. It's possible the photos are very old, because the living room seating has changed (less now),the trees in the back are massive now, and there is no longer grass-- we loved enjoying the fruit from the trees, but were disappointed for lack of grass, because we chose that explicitly for the toddler to run around. At least she enjoyed the dirt. Unfortunately, the AC stopped working during our time there. Pat was very responsive and had workers out to look at it next day. He provided a couple brand new fans to help with the heat, though it only did a little due to the record heat that weekend. The AC was not able to be replaced until after we left, so it was a sweaty stay. (He indicated it would be fixed by end of July, so worth checking.) In general, Pat was accommodating to our needs for the stay, and we enjoyed the space enough to consider returning here.
This sweet little house was just what was described/shown in the listing. Completely comfortable, had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and we had to drive everywhere we wanted to go - but again, this was expected. The primary bedroom’s shower was A+++! The decor could use a smidge of an update, and the one thing that we both could have done without was the air freshener which was so overpowering. And, as others have said, the back yard has so much potential! It could easily fit, and use, some more comfortable lounge furniture. The trees were gorgeous and hopefully there are plans to update.
All in all, this was a really nice spot - centrally
Located btw San Francisco and the Toyota Pavillion, with a lot of hiking nearby. Pat was organized and helpful with the few questions I had.
