"The hotel was clean and the room was nice. The swimming pool facilities were great, sauna, steam room etc. The breakfast for what it was, was great, lots of continental options and your choice of a cooked breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place and come again. Id love to write a longer review but there was no issues, everything was great."

"We had a fabulous stay at the Gainsborough. The whole experience from start to finish was perfect, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy. "This might just be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. I came straight from work, upon my arrival to reception, the receptionist (Amelie/Amelia?) could not have been more welcoming. As I was checking in, I was offered a complimentary drink which was lovely. I was then offered to sign up to the free members club which I did and immediately got a free room upgrade and 2 mini bottles of Prosecco for the room as I was having a girls night with my best friend. "Good hotel with excellent restaurant for lunch and evening meal however breakfast was continental only. Pastries and croissants were not fresh and on the hard side on both mornings. A coffee machine would be a welcome addition rather than instant sachets. Rooms are lovely and comfortable. Good telly signal. Good Wi-Fi. Fridge. "Last minute decision to stay here, decent price, large seating in bar/ reception area. Check out is 11 which I liked without having to rush up and out. Easy check in and out. Room was a decent size and bed was comfortable, my only gripe was remote for tv didn't work properly."

"Honestly the most enjoyable hotel stay in a long while. The hotel itself is great but the staff and the level of service is what makes this place stand head and shoulders above others. ALL of the staff from reception, to restaurant to the engineer who came to week our air con controls were just lovely and so efficient. I can’t speak highly enough of them. Thank you"

"Lovely hotel in prime location, spotlessly clean room was very comfortable. Slight issue with electrics to bedside chargers sadly couldn’t be resolved but a minor irritation. Hotel very busy during our visit, all staff remained professional under pressure. Great"

"My only disappointment was that I had requested an upgrade before my stay. I had an email confirming that was possible but on check in was told that it wasn't then possible. I had an early 7am appointment the next morning and requested the upgrade to facilitate the fridge for my yogurt so I could eat before leaving tbe hotel ( breakfast didn't open until 7am at the hotel). Therefore I had to leave my yogurt in the bathroom sink full of cold water. It was far from ideal when I had paid over...
